Finds no longer spawning within a certain range?

If I get a find that's say within 10m of where I dropped a probe, I'll often drop another probe in that same spot since I often will get other finds and I'm not wasting much of the range on my finder covering previous ground. However, since the last VU, I haven't been finding claims within my maximum drop radius of 55m when I previously found a claim within that 10m zone. Has anyone else noticed this or am I just having horrible luck with my drops? I've pretty much quit doing double drops in this fashion, so I'm starting to wondering if MA changed something in the ore spawns so that they do not cluster so much.

Been like that for me for ages..I'm on a vacation from mining...loot has been super bad for me for 6 months now..
