Assumptions underlying the graph:
1. That the average user lifespan will be six months
2. That 80% of the users will play for free and 20% will pay to play
3. That the Average Revenue per Paying User and month (ARPU) will be 3 USD.

Assumption: 80% (probably more) users will play for free.
Expectation: very big volume of players using that cross-platform app.

Question 1: Will that app have it's own dedicated server?

Question 2: Because of it's ties to EU's taming system, how ComPet will affect already very bad lag (and freezes) that we all experience in-game frequently?

Question 3: Because ComPet will be web based and we have Awesomnium integrated with EU - will we be able to play it from within the EU?

Naturally people have questions and issues after a release of content, and to that MA says:

"Entropia Universe

It's vacation time!

In the next few weeks we'll try to spend a little less time in the office. We will of course continue to monitor the Facebook page for any questions you might have, it just may take a little longer for us to answer.

I... See More" - facebook

Wait a month please before asking any questions. Don't forget to bid on the items we are not around to clarify the functions for.

Did they release anything? Was it not only smaller updates and planet content "with new things to find"?

I took from the quote below, that its seemingly almost a complete separate entity. That its an app, will be available from iTunes no doubt... That they have saw that these daft game apps are where the money is at in this day and age.

It seems, again just my opinion, that the new app will share features of Eu's taming system, but that they may be quite separate entities, linkable through ones webpage based EU account, and not necessarily on the game itself. That you may possibly be able to interact with your pet or what not in game, but to "compete" you need to be over on compet.

That although you need to have a registered EU account, you dont even need to download the game. The new app, can all be managed and played completely away from EU the game.

One would like to think if it is a separate entity, then no life would be sucked from the EU servers to run it, and as the Compet players wont actually be in game, they wouldnt have an effect on game play as we know it.

But yes you are right, it would be nice to know these things for sure! If the 2 are completely split, with just the theme and webpage based account being the same. Or will they be truley integrated? If so how does that work with one being an App with players having not even needed to DL the game.

It will be interesting to see, if any, what the cross over between the two is. As far as I can see at the moment, this is a new venture, quite separate from EU in mechanics, but cross over in the taming ideas.

Finally you will be able to play the Entropia Universe(EU) on different platforms.
...
The new Competition Pet (ComPet) system will provide features of Entropia Universe, including creature clashes, and bring them together in an exciting smartphone, tablet and web browser application.
....
Smartphone, tablet and browser users will be able to compete with one another by selecting one of the many pets available in the ComPet application.
....
Additionally, any player can be part of this revenue opportunity and earn PED when smartphone, tablet and web browser users play the new Entropia Universe ComPet App.

...
anyone with an Entropia Universe account, even those who may not have installed the full Entropia Universe PC client software. They can alternatively purchase deeds through the Virtual Tycoon Android mobile app and start earning revenue from ComPet activity, which is scheduled for launch in Q1 2015.

Just my tuppence, clarification would be fab :)

It was said that ComPet "will have direct ties to the Entropia Universe taming! system".

Expectation is that high volume of new players will use that app, therefore this will create high volume of calls between ComPet and EU thus adding more stress to existing server stability.
This will take place regardless if ComPet will be on it's own dedicated server, with lesser stress if yes.

Anyway would be nice to get some comments from MA about how they plan to fix existing problems and avoid worsening them with this new app.

i doubt it, "direct ties" will mean the pet exists within EU and maybe food and decorations for them will be looted. no reason for any live links between the two game systems.

Log in info will likely be on same servers as EU so will just mean less people will be able to log into EU itself...:D
