Cant get on Entropedia at all

Raven, Entropedia's working fine for me. Have you tried clearing your browser cache etc?

Try a ctrl+f5 refresh, sometimes that helps more.

If that doesn't work try to ping www.entropiawiki.com and see what it says.

Try use somekind proxy/annoymus surf/bypass ;)

Hey Lb, I am not an internet or computer whiz by any means but I would first think it is either your browser or your ISP (internet service provider). So maybe try updating your browser/s, or getting a new one??? Then look at your ISP.

Good Luck! :)

Jeoff.

going to bed, will try diff browser in the morning,

How do I ping?

thanks for the help, guys and gals

A 505 error from any website's server means that it does not support your current client i.e. browser. This generally happens, most likely when you are using Internet Explorer. Simply switch to another browser such as FireFox, Chrome, Safari, Opera, or update your IE. This should remedy your problem. Let me know if this helps you out any.

This does the same thing,

sorry not 505 its 504,

Says Gateway Timeout

Im using IE 10

and used to be able to get on with this,

anyone else cant get on with IE 10?

Are you connected via Wi-Fi connection? At any rate, restart your modem and router. After you have restarted your devices then try again. A 504 error does not mean there is anything wrong with your actual computer but rather there is an issue with the network server responding back. I can confirm it is not on entropedia's end since I can connect to it still.

The number one most common cause of 504 errors is the host server. Since no one else is seeing your issue, it is most likely the number two most common cause - your dns server (typically determined by your isp unless you have manually set them).

Part 1 - Unplug your modem (I will assume it is a cable modem). After the restart, unhook the cable from the back of your modem. Let sit 5 minutes in order to guarantee a refresh signal is sent. Plug in your cable again. Wait 30 seconds. restart yet again.

If this does not fix your problem, you may try setting a dns server. There are many tutorials on how to do this online with photos. Rather than attempt to repeat them, I'll let you find one that is easy for you to read.

This may not solve your issue, as 504 CAN be caused by other things, though it is most likely a dns issue.

Try this m8

(although I dont think it will work as you couldnt get on using the IP address so may not be a DNS issue )

Click start

type cmd, press enter

a black box will pop up

in that box type :

ipconfig /flushdns

press enter .

see if that fixes it

add to last have to put anything in your hosts file reflecting entropedia ? ( if you dont know what im on about then you probably havent )

Not a bad idea as well, but if his isp has a dns issue and a limited amount of dns servers (1 or 2 locally is typical), this will not help.

I'm also invariably getting 504 gateway timeout. I access the Internet via tethering

Dunno if either is helpful. If additional hops on traceroute (of * * * no doubt) are useful, let me know.

ETA: Works fine through TOR, so entropedia must be on some blacklist for T-mobile. Usually that would pop up a notification page, so there must be something strange going on in entropedia code now.

Could be that some of the calls to external systems like the peauction is being blacklisted... perhaps by your isp or a router with a firewall.
