*WoF Judge Sign-Up Thread* JOBS VACANT!

If I can say something regarding this situation:

I am the ONLY participant for Team Canada, and am not an exceptionally high-level hunter. People have offered to assist me, which I have appreciated, but ultimately declined because we (Canada) do not have the team presence to go beyond Stage 3. I posted a qualifier score so there was actually a Stage 3, and in doing so created more opportunities for other teams serious about this event do try and do well for their countries.

I knew I wasn't available the first weekend for scheduling hunts, and made that very clear to everyone who needed to know. When I started to schedule my two hunts, personal scheduling changed for me and as soon as I realized that I may not be around for NEXT week's times, I once again let people know of this, and sent a PM to Hurrikane. Multiple times were offered for this weekend, but because there's 6-8h difference that really only made a couple spots an option. I was open to a hunt today, and a hunt tomorrow, but both France and Romania confirmed for Sunday. You can't see the messages sent privately between myself and Ozzonn from Team France, but there's a very clear post in both France and Romania's team threads where I said I was open to multiple times.

If I saw any advantage to myself (with the full situation considered), I would not have requested this arrangement. I do not see any realistic way that I can post a score that even challenges France or Romania for advancement to Stage 4.

I know that you offered multiple timeslots Savanna, and I don't blame you for any of this. But the fact that you're a one-person team, and that you probably won't be achieving a high score, is not relevant. The problem is that this not affects not just you, and not even just the other teams in your group, but every team in the competition.

Had we had the option to play both of our matches at the same time, I would be more than happy to double the 665 points we achieved last time and to save our PEDs this weekend by doing so. I don't think our competition (by which I mean not just our group opponents but also those with whom we are competing for a top 3 score to get the seeded places) would have been happy however.

When announcing the group draws Hurrikane gave some clear rules about what would happen if teams were unable to agree a suitable match time. Those rules have not been followed.
 
Ok if it makes everyone happy, then the single player of average ability who makes up Team Canada will hunt France as planned. Romania can hunt alone against a forfeited score from Canada.


Any objections if this all happens at 17:00 Sunday?

That would certainly address part of the problem but I don't see why Savanna should have to forfeit when she was apparently flexible and offered her opponents multiple options.
 
Unless either France or Romania wants to move to the 12:00 slot tomorrow, there's not really any other time options at this point. I wouldn't ask that of them, as it requires much more planning from them in order to run a successful hunt. They are much larger groups, and requesting this kind of last minute change when (probably) many of them have other commitments as well isn't exactly fair either.

If it's easiest on everyone to run one hunt, and forfeit the other, I'll accept that.
I don't care which is scored and which is forfeit, as I wasn't planning on winning either of them.

Alternate cut-off times:

(*) No globals between 21:06 (2 hour mark) and 21:16 (when teams started to disband). Between 21:16 and 22:06, what happened was that Finland got a Caperon global. The global would give normal match score, but as Finaldn already had a Caperon it would not have an impact on Variety bonus, and as it was not enough for sweep, it would not have an impact of sweep score either.

Though it immediately looks like an early cut-off leads to lower scores, on the other hand it can mean higher scores if the circumstances is better during the completion match, though at cost of extra match time.

Benelux team
Hunted against USA. Their last global was 19:58.

Czech team
They did not participate in this match (from beginning of match until the Point their match got aborted). They were to hunt against Finland.

Are there any judges available for this weekend? I know there hasn't been official word regarding the completion of the truncated round three matches, but I know that Wales and Eudoria would like to complete our match.

AFAIK, the mob spawns for the round 3 mobs are still in place. Soooooooo, anyone available for 19:00 Saturday?

Question:

Since this is a continuation of a match, does the main team need to be at the start to begin? I know one person needs to be there just to team the judge, but makes no sense for the entire team needing to be there, as they would have been out in the field killing stuff at the 90 minute mark. Hate to lose valuable time like that, as I am sure other teams would hate to lose time as well.

Anyone knows how the previous continuation match did (USA-Australia)?
Were they gathered at start Point when match begun or did they start right away?

As for time lost, with a TP(III) chip it's pretty fast to get to the TP - I don't know how well the mainteams are equipped.

Anyone else planning to be there? At least, to be there when match starts, when match ends, and who can keep a log of scores (in case someone crashes).

Looking at the log Serica posted, looks like that match (Guinea/Australia) restarted from the start point. No problem, will have main team there and ready to go!

By the time we decided to stop and the discussions on how to continue had been done everyone was back at the start point anyway so we just went on from there.
 
I Think that two matches remains, USA vs Benelux and Finland vs Czech.

It would be good to clear those up and set a new time, so that the next stage could be announced and started. Also, the longer it takes, the bigger the risk is that the spawns on the event areas are changed.

For USA it's mainly about seeding, and for Czech a chance to collect some scores as, for some reason, they missed the "first half" of the match.

We had technical difficulties and we were told that we just cannot re-schedule our match and that we are receiving 0 points for it. So we thought that's a game end for us.

If we would be still allowed to play twice and score twice, that would be awesome.

If not, we can possibly try calypso cross award in a match vs Finland. Because I doubt we make enough score just from one match to qualify..

If anything team Czech can play anytime this weekend if Fins are ready ;p
 
If matches are going to be done this weekend and im needed for judging i am going to need at lease a 2 hour warning from the start so i have time to fly over to caly.
 
Hi Judges and sorry for the delay in getting things going again, I had a health issue which put a spanner in the works for a short while but it's less of a problem now.

The two half matches (USA/BENELUX, FINLAND/CZECH) can now take place next weekend (31st/1st) or Mon-Fri afterwards, depending how quick they can agree a time. I should be able to attend most dates and times (unless they choose the Thursday) but anyone else who sees the confirmed times when the teams post them here feel free to claim the slot.

I will sort out all outstanding Judging fees in my next communication to Mindark. Please PM me details of any you're missing.

STAGE 4 dates are Feb 7th/8th, Feb 14th/15th and Feb 21st/22nd. Slots remain the same.

As soon as the half-matches are done I will post the draw results and new groups.

Scores THOROUGHLY checked four times now... the sums add up. A HoF was awarded erroneously, now amended.

Team USA scored a mighty 699 in this match.

Scores being updated now, draw coming straight after.
