nice to see some advertising in a high profile place :D

What is that video you were watching? :smoke:

Its nice to see something.
It's not necessarily MA advertising, it could be one of the few people who get affiliate % of new users. ( calypso in this case)
Google in this case is targeting you directly because of what you have searched in the past. That is a bad strategy for whoever created the add.
They should review the targeted keywords, and remove the ones who target users already connected.

Either way it's awesome to see someone is advertising

It's a terrible advertisement IMO. I think a high schooler can do a better job..

Looks like there are three possible ad banners that can be seen on YouTube atm

entropia_youtube_ads.jpg

On youtube I found the ads with the following keywords

Planet Calypso
Planet Toulan
Planet Arkadia
Entropia Universe

Searching for Rocktropia & Next Island got me an advertisement for a local furniture store. Searching for Planet Cyrene got me an advertisement for the phone company, searching for just Cyrene got me the furniture store ad again. Searching for Project Entropia gave me another generic non-related advertisement.

Most likely not. I get them all the time off the Guru3d.com website i visit for computer hardware reviews. They are always a Google add so I assume that it is the same old targeted advertising MA has been doing over and over.

Max for you to see furniture ads you must have googled furniture recently.
Is this part of any fetish you have? :D

Either that or its the only local store to me thats advertising on youtube at the moment. :wise:

Honestly, they look awful lol. If I didn't play this game, and I saw those adds, I would not even look twice.

Just what I wanted to say. Google is clearly displaying these ads based on the google search history and browsing history.

Wasted money to display these ads to people who already know about Planet Calypso.

I've seen quite a few Calypso ads myself and they're obviously wasted on me.

They likely would be mostly wasted on anyone who is already searching for Entropia or Calypso, or anything EU related because those people already know about the game.

If these were paid for by an affiliate then all they are trying to do is capitalize on the existing marketing done by MindArk and the planet partners.

When we see MA do online advertising, it gets results.

I kept seeing them over and over before I played EU... then I saw this really large one with more info and checked it out... Well, curiosity certainly did kill the cat!

Real balls, nice bit of casual alienation :p

yeah real catchie one :silly2: it is sure that will bring a lot of new "players"

I didn't see any ad myself but those three pictures I see here.... as an ad for EU?.....looking like an amateur effort to me. But maybe that is the purpose.

What if they are displayed for people searched for MMO.
And probably if you don't click it cost 0.00 $ and if you click it cost 0.0000001 $ for MA

Click price is much higher, but i think they are displayed to ppl who Google "entropia" or "calypso" as many of my friends who play many MMOs and makes related searches have never seen any of these advertisements. Me myself isee them very often, cause entropia is one of the only things i Google on computer, (Google search function is much better than forum one, so if you want to buy something then just Google item name + planet calypso)

Female pic and balls, brains, bucks ?

Ah...

It need to have real balls to role play female avatar and act as female.
Appart balls one for sure need real brains to role play female ava and socialise with sourrounding egocentric monkeys with uber virtual pixel dongs always in erection in front of female ava with (IRL) real balls.
And finaly it ned alot of real bucks to do so.

I am not impressed, most of the proper EU players would see right through the females pictured in the advertising, I think they are trying to market it to the wrong demographic. Sure there are some cute looking avatars in the game but this is a sideline to the main attraction and shouldn't be used as a marketing tool, anyway most of those (F) avatars in game are fat 40 males living in their mothers basements (or they are hard core players who just want the cheaper armour.

PS Armour is spelt Armour not Armor - Americans please note.

If you have the bucks you don't need the brain and if you have the brains, you don't need the bucks. This is better!!!

Looks like very poor advertising in a tiny square.

Damned if they do, damned if they don't.... sort of a kick in the balls. :yup:

If you dont click it the price is $0 but if you click it and the Keyword is MMO than it can cost up to $6 per click (not 0.000001)
If its keywords like "planet Calypso" or "project entropia" these are very cheap CPC (cost per click) because nobody else is using these keywords, but at the same time they are a waste of money because people that search the specific word "Project Entropia" already know it exists.

Nice to hear about someone that actually found their way here through advertising!
