Yes indeed, a thread inspired on Ace's thread.
Mainly because i think Ace has been too lucky in his thread, or that he got blessed by MA for starting the thread :eyecrazy:. (and i wouldn't mind some of that, so if creating a log helps.... :yay:)

The big difference is that i am a casual miner only doing 100 drops per run and mostly just one run per day, so it will be a lot slower thread.

Some additional info:

  • Tool used: TerraMaster 6
  • Only searching for ores
  • Unamped
  • No double bombing
  • not in taxed LA's
  • I don't count finder/extractor decay in the return %

Based on Ace's estimation where he should get 80-85% tt return, i should see 95-100% tt return, which used to be the case for years on end.

I hope to show how incredibly boring and depressing mining is with the current system, in the hopes that someone from MA will take another look at the loot distribution in mining.

That is awesome bud! Good luck with your returns. If it helps my tt returns are slowly decreasing. :D

Got this weird Deju Vu feeling going on... :scratch2:

Subscribing!

Second run:

Bombs dropped: 100
tt return: 64,96 peds

It has to go down, before it can get up :)

It would be good if you could at least track finder decay so we can see the return % both with and without that included in cost.

run 3:

Bombs dropped: 100
tt return: 87,44 peds

Getting better :)

Apparently, you're not getting 90% TT returns...

Well the question then is... Are you getting 90% ming returns?

Hehe yes, the ming is way better :)

First positive run today, unfortunately the luck didn't last, but at least the average markup is up a bit :wtg:

When comparing my returns to Ace's i'm starting to think LA's don't take tax from miners but actually give them higher tt returns :scratch2:.

Would be nice to have a double test.
Scenario 1
- same number of runs only in taxed areas
Scenario 2
- each day, at least one run in untaxed and one run in taxed areas, one after another to minimize the daily biorhythm.

maybe one day, but for now i think i'll still have faith in the theory that mining in a taxed LA is bad for tt returns.

Ace got his returns today, so maybe i'll be lucky too.

run 20:

Bombs dropped: 100
tt return: 131,01 peds

run 21:

Bombs dropped: 100
tt return: 78,15 peds

run 22:

tt return: 74,08 peds

Well at least my second profitable run in 20 runs total (10%, how depressing) still waiting for a global or sooto though.

You have a lot of editing to do, "bombs" not "boms"

Good luck with your runs bud

A test would be good at some point i agree, future log perhaps

Forgot to update yesterday, so a few more runs:

run 23:

Bombs dropped: 100
tt return: 89,74 peds

run 24:

Bombs dropped: 100
tt return: 85,34 peds

run 25:

Bombs dropped: 100
tt return: 85,58 peds

run 26:

Bombs dropped: 100
tt return: 99,1 peds

run 27:

Bombs dropped: 100
tt return: 75,64 peds

Well the 26th run was close to break even at least :)

run 28:

Bombs dropped: 100
tt return: 92,36 peds

run 29:

Bombs dropped: 100
tt return: 63,68 peds

run 30:

Bombs dropped: 100
tt return: 73,52 peds

Bleh, 3k drops without a global or a sooto. I feel that when mining unamped anything over 10 ped should be global this is so depressing. Then again that might stop some people form using amps.

If i don't get a global before 1k tt losses I'll stop this thread. I guess this will show enough how boring and depressing the current mining system is.

run 33:

3rd run with a tt profit, so 1 in 10 seems to hold

run 34:

Bombs dropped: 100
tt return: 78,65 peds

run 35:

Bombs dropped: 100
tt return: 112,08 peds

run 36:

Bombs dropped: 100
tt return: 103,5 peds

Two runs with a tt profit, might my luck be changing? I hope so because tt return is still below 80% after 3600 drops.
