I just reached lv 22 on Prospector. . So was eager to try out Lv 13 Amp on my F105 tier 4.

Tried bought 2 lv 13 on 2 occasion and only got back 50%++ return after selling the markup. So disappointed with...

Please teach me how to effectively use a lv 13 Amp?

If lv 13 Amp gives back such a lousy return, why is it made for and why still selling at such high markup?

Holy moly dont know where to start...

Anyways Markup of Amps doesnt affect tt return.
So if you buy 100ped tt amp (level 2 for example, 105%) at 105ped and 100 bombs you will get back roughly 90% tt value = ´(100+100)*0,9`=180ped tt return. If you count amp markup also then your return shall be 180/205=87,8%

If you buy 100ped tt amp for 200% (so 200ped) and use 100 ped bombs, you will get back roughly 90% tt value= 180 ped
If you count amp markup also then your return shall be 180/300=60%

Why is level 13 markup so high? Because ppl are willing to pay that price in hope to get big TT value ath. You know sometimes almost every drop is a hit and you get about 300% tt return? Imagine that run with level 13 amp.

Thats the reason why amps with markup upto 110% are way more popular than amps with markup over 130%.

Mindark only pays out according to tt spent (as markup goes to other players and not MA) so it doesnt matter what markup the Amp has, you will always get around 90% tt return (in long term atleast)

Its a very long mother goose story...so I'ld rather you try and find out/read up on what amps are and how they work.

But long story short, being at level 22 prospector and having hit a couple of good hofs before...I'm pretty sure you already know how "dynamic" things are with loot returns...and how much it is necessary to perform as many "loot actions" as "PEDically possible" (yeah...just a random term I've coined). Or else your TT returns will screw you like no tomorrow.

Therefore, running through 2 level 13 amps or (17 x 2) loot attempts...what do you think your chances would be of a decent return? Hmmm...I'ld say it can be as good as hitting an ATH OR as bad as getting all NRFs.

For an even shorter version of this story...mining amps are more or less for gambling purposes...to amplify the size of the deposits that you find...IF...you do hit one with a decently high TT value, that is.

It amplifies your "potential" returns on GOOD runs...but also amplifies your "losses" on DISASTROUS runs.

Obviously you doing something wrong™.

So you went to the casino, strolled in the high roller section, slapped two white chips on the table and are surprised you lost?

I hope you learned from a pricey lesson.

At prof 22 you are barely into level 13 amp skill. (20 prof min)

Think of it like weapon SIB, if your gun needs prof 20 you wont be 100% until at least 25.

The other consideration is that level 13 amps are best used by people with the tools (prof 50+ tools) and knowledge on deeper /rarer claim areas. Fields of niks or pyrite for example. So that when you do hit, the markup makes up for the amp.

That said, I would hesitate using one pre-prof 40 myself.

What everyone else said.....PS it can take 5000-10000 drops to get that compensation hof.

So in the mean time expect 80-90% returns.

So Level 13 amp = 360ped? With markup = 536ped ish

17 bombs per amp = tt cost of 360 + 17 bombs + finder decay (which i will ignore) = 377 peds spent

Short term 80% tt returns = 377 * 0.8 = 301.6 peds of ores

So:
tt spent = 377 peds
tt return = 301.6 peds

tt spent with markup = 553 ped ish
tt return with markup (presuming you get a good average 120% = 301.6 * 1.2 = 361.92
return % including markup = 65%

Total loss = 553 - 362 = 191 peds PER AMP

Therefore to break even in the short term you will need to find an average markup of 184% for all ores/enmatters.

I hope that helps.

PS you will also need to drop thousands to get a steady tt return.

(removed what I said as this sums it up)

level 13 is under 500 ped :yay:

Level 13 amps is the same as going to slot machines. So don't even bother if you don't have a gambling addiction.

You do realise useing lvl 13 amps is like doing dino shoes on condition. You need an insane amount ped and time, if your on a low day week or month you can put all the ped in you want, The system will just suck it until its your time. But i suppose the only way you really learn is by having massive loses.

To use lv13 amp's effectively, you need about 100 lv13 AMP's and try to hit resources such as Redulite, Wenrex, Devils Tail, Pyrite blah blah blah

by using lv13's you are feeding a gambling addiction, which is a pretty effective process.

I learned my lesson.. as i saw the video on people using lv 13, looks fun... and jump in like nobody business... damn.. and got burn badly... now running without amp for a while.. since the calypso is so dry atm...
