I've seen a lot of whining about 2.9xx dpp and returns are extremely low (50%-70%). With that low returns, there must be something wrong with calculations.
I'd like to bring out mistake that i am 100% sure some people are making.
For example, let's take 400PED (planned) cost of run (ammo + gun decay + amp decay + fap decay + armor decay). Let's say you have amp that lasts a lot more ammo than you bring out to the field.
You don't end your hunt before every single ammo is burned. After hunt you will get return percentage of 61.11%. How so low you wonder?
Little explanation:
You've looted about 200ped extra ammo that you also burned, aside with extra gun-, amp-, armor- and fap decay. With that extra ammo, you got about 125ped worth loot. But this amount of ammo went from your "planned" loot amount. So let's say before you touched this looted ammo, you did gained 350ped worth loot, so we take off your looted ammo 200ped and add what you looted for that, you will get 275ped total return. Now we are going to repair and check all costs- it seems like you wasted about 450ped (we are adding extra decay that came from shooting with looted ammo) and gained only 275ped loot. That's it, it seems you got 61.11% return
Now you are whining about bad return and almost rage quit, but you don't realize that is not your actual return!
Actual return:
Before you were started to use looted ammo, your loot amount were 350ped tt, with planned 400ped of costs, it makes 87.5% of return. Now if we want to add looted ammo return into calculations, we basically need to make another calculation. With that 200ped extra ammo + 50ped extra decay you got 125ped extra loot and it makes return of 50%.
Now if we add actual cost and actual loot gained, we get 400 + 250 = 650ped total cycled and 350 + 125 = 475PED total loot gained. It makes actual total return 73.08%!
In this example, the defference were about ~12%. It may vary even more if you keep looting ammo, but 12% is a huge difference if we are looking into bigger picture.
Suggestion:
Hunt exact amount of clicks/ammo and calculate your return based on actually cycled of PEDs- you'll might be surprised
I hope it is understandable and might help someone to get their return percentage up, but i don't believe that with decent dpp someone's overall return can be constantly this low as they say
