Hello,

Any tips on what mistakes to avoid as a returning player who's been active last in 2010-2011?

To get the ball rolling: It seems that you can sell items in Calypso auction that cannot be used on Planet Calypso... :confused:
 
1. Do not buy items that can only be used in the hub if you do not plan to go there.

2. Do not overpay items because you think they still cost what they used to cost 2-3 years ago.

3. Get a gold card

4. Do never try to buy peds outside the game ( e.g. Chinese gold sellers )

5. Make frequent use of rookie chat if a question comes to your mind

- space is lootable pvp

- do a little research on what weapons to use. Opalo, korsses L, isis LRs L , breer p5a L , willard heatray L, isis HL 6+ L are all obsolete and overpriced because they no longer drop.

- check melee weapons and MF chips, some are pretty nice eco.

- don't buy an adj fap, it will prolly go down in price.

- ark deeds are not as good as CLDs.

- oh and don't forget to convert shrapnels to universal ammo - right click on them in inventory, it will give you 101% universal ammo, but that ammo can't be TTed, while shrapnels can.

I just came back from a few years off and am loving the new Melee options. High DPS and good ECO w/ the new amps.

roi on cld is higher, but if you want daily payout to fund daily activites aud is far superior. Best to not put all eggs in one basket, especially if they are green and unique.

Especially as CLDs skyrocketed and will drop again as summer comes. Better buy them summertime.
 
Be sure to check whether there is a mission associated with any particular mob you might want to hunt, or for a new mob you might come across that has been introduced since you last played.
 
Adopt a different playstyle to what caused you to stop playing in 2011.

Listen to whatever Karmic says. ;)
 
Drink K cider. And no other, whilst playing.

The biggest mistake to avoid; return to a EU and think you know anything.... things changes, and your old knowledge may very well be worthless. So treat it as a new game.
