Hispidus​

Description

A gigantic beast, seemingly put together of the random odd parts. A bulky, humped body moves on four legs, the front pair being three times the length of the hindlegs. A wide maw opens directly into the chestcavity, which also hides the penutsized brain. Two tough tentacles swing at the end of a muscular, bristly neck, ready to whack the unfortunate victim into oblivion.

Merry Hispidus are an event mob and do not count for the hunting challenges or have a regular spawn.

It's subjective. You want to see low, check out the coodinates for Equus, Repesilex & Turp.

Entropedia has 3 categories of Low / Medium / High, and to start with on my flying about expeditions, I checked locations and agreed with that data (for the most part). With experience my thoughts on what constituted low/medium/high started to alter.

Also bear in mind that on land areas, if the land owner alters settings since a visit, what you see can be different on what Oleg or I saw when we inputted it above.

There is the possibility of the above three mobs (and some others) being changed to Very Low.

I'd never seen one of those odd looking beasts before taking on this role, hope you found enough to hunt. :sniper:

EDIT: 10th April edit, changed to Low from Medium.

There used to be a small spawn south-west of Ahh... The Estophyls LA (PVP but not lootable); the last time I was there (two or three days ago) I didn't see any though.

No, it was outside the LA, near its south-west corner. They appeared at some point last year, I believe. Just a couple of mobs but as I said, earlier this week I didn't see them anymore. I don't really mine that area often and have no idea where they came from and where they went :)

Haha, no I meant that it sounds like I'll have to hunt them on the land area)
 
A lone Hispidus Old spotted in the area discussed above:



I guess they were there all the time, just the spawn is very low.

edit: the rest of red dots on the radar are Bristlehog ~Young to ~Guardian.

They were, that was where the picture was taken. Spawn density has probably reduced if there has been a fertilser issue in the past year.

I'm not sure they feed from the LA, this was quite far outside it. I've never seen more than two at once anyway.
 
I added a table for the Merry Hispidus. Please share any stats/scans you've got from the other levels.

Not a great spot, but the land area around 22351, 54475 has some. Just takes a bit of running around as the density is very low (LA is abandoned). This is just one of the dailies that’s not really worth bothering with IMO.
