is it worth it?

hey everyone reading

is it worth while to make a come back? I have been in and out of EU for quite some time now, going on a year now (more out then in atm).RL and such takes priority after all. I have seen a lot of changes etc in the game and markets, what is your opinion? Should I make a decent size depo and go for it?

as long as your 'fun' doesn't involve lavishly spending ped and making poor decisions, then yes I would say come back and enjoy the ride I've been around over 10 years and still have fun every time I play

All depends on what you find fun?

I know people who mainly chat in game, maybe sweat, help out noobies, doesnt cost them a penny.

So please tell us first, what you regard as fun? Then we can say if £1000 is enough.

that does not sound bad at all! haha well hunting is fun. I am around L47 DMG & Hit for BLP pistoleer and Sniper. still got a set of adj pixie i think. might do a smaller depo to test the waters this week.

DPS is not that relevant since we will be a big bunch (hopefully) and armor will only determine how much translocator you get to skill. Many go naked up there.

Some Adj Pixie with 5Bs and you can hunt a fair amount of mobs at a fair cost, assuming you have decent evade and HP. Stick with L guns and you can make 10k PED last a long time.

Also, doing the daily missions to get tokens can be helpful too, as long as you don't do the ridiculous missions (ie: go kill 100 Warlocks for all of 3 tokens!). Sticking to at least the Level 1 and 2 dailies (and when you get the occasional bonus mission) and you can keep getting free weapons basically.

As long as you're careful about what you hunt, you can survive for a while with your PED card.

I would say come back depo 50 usd if you don't like where that goes or see no fun, 1000 usd sure the hell won't make it any better.

Why go gusto if your not sure is what I am getting at. If you like what your seeing then go ahead do the bigger depo.

Don't trust what others say they are not you and have no idea what you enjoy or have enjoyed about the game. Each person has their own likes and dislikes about the game and each weighs that worth to instantiate if depo is worth it.

Example: (not to say wave events are not fun) but I actually hate large mob shared loot activities I just get screwed and avoid them like the black plague in the middle ages. Others think that is the only part of the game that is worth playing. Case in point.....

Just comeback, and check it out.

There is a lot of new things available, and with $1000 you can have a lot of fun.

But please consider your money as payment for the fun (lost at the end).

If you are not sure if it is worth to come back ( Noone can answer the question for you, as it needs to be worth it for you ), just test with a smaller amount.

Then you can decide by testing it.

Welcome back! And to echo most of the other comments... $1000 is more than enough to have a blast in this game.. and it will last for quite a long time, and with some luck (rare/high markup items) you may end up better off than you started..

I spent about $150 skilling up and buying necessary things like armor/amp/quad/sleip... but after that I've been able to last years on the following $250 I deposited, doing a mix of hunting/mining.

i would say yes, depo what amount you find you can spare as "fun" money and go from there, take is easy and enjoy the new and GOOD changes that has happend, its still a work in progress but there are diffrent planets to play on that has diffrent setups. I would sugest you install and play and go to each of the diffrent planets and see what suits you and your game style. Auction house is planet to planets now. Explore and get some cool new friends

Challenge yourself.. make choces and have freedom. And plese, don't focu on themoney.. (It's not worth it..)

To the Op: Well it's really what you want out of this game.. and what goals you want.. or what challenges you want to meet.. and depo size shouldn't matter here, unless you want to make a big deal out of it..

I know that RL does take priority here and that taking care of a wife and kids and having a family is important.. but you also nneed the fun and teh enjoyment of what youw want to do.. but as one player pointed out.. it's what your goals are in this game..

but i would suggest small goals to start with.. and then work towards bigger golds..

Every year I set down goals for mself.. and I've been doing this for the last 7 years running.. the first year wer e small goals.. doing things like exploring the wold of Calypso (and late, the universe and seeing what i liked and didn't like.. Then there's the part of exploring the social side of this game.. and who is decent and who isn't..

of ocurse the goals yo set are your own. No one can take that away from you.. they're yours and yours alone..

and set up callenges.. and have fun.. Explore the possibilites out there..(It's funny cause in a way I've explored a lot and I get a better understanding of the game evryday.. (Maybe because I have time to sit down and explore what really is going on here.. Sure this is a video game, but maybe the fact that it is, it's a form of escapism that we all need in this real world..

And yes someo fo the richer folks do have the time to do this.. but some of us poorer folks, well we go out there just to escape from the problems of the world.. (And i know , some of you ar esaying, well why are you in this game? Maybe I'm trying to understand where in the world I fit in, maybe it's the fact I try to empathize with people.. The list goes on and on.. After all like has been pointed out it's all about the fun and the enjoyment of the game.. it's only when it becomes a chore that the game stops bieng fun..

So what is my advice/ Star small. Yif you want to spend 1000 USD then sure go for it but play cautiously.. and try to make it to the point wher you can enjoy this game.. And maybe some folks can take some advice here.. It's not aobu thte money, but the enjoyment that you are part of a community here.. that you ahave friends and a sort of make shift family that you can relate to.. and if you are single.. Maybe you'll meet a special someone..

It's really what you make of this game that makes it worthwhile..

In the end, it's what you make of it, what choices you make are your own.. what challenges you want to set up..

Heck right now I'm working on bing par of the IFN and doing the Oratan Payback missions to earn my stripes (I'm a bit of a survivalist and can take the punishment.. the question I ask to everyone here is.. what do you want to make out of the game..(Other than the money? The fun? The companonship and commeradarie of being with freinds (and in some cases Family? To be part of a community? The real question is to you is .. what do yo wnt to do today/

Now if you'll excue me I got a lot to do.. It's friday and it's teh weekend.. Myabe it's time to kick back and relax after a very stressful week.

Or even better save that money for college..or your kids college. Thats a heck of alot of money to spend on a game.

I suppose, if you can make it last a couple years, it may be worth it...but dang man. Did you win the lottery or something? I can think of MUCH better ways to use 1000 buks...

#2 They think money is for college ( did that a while ago ), most of us did. Now we have money to waste, if not wisely.

#3 I won the lottery of absurdity: I.e: yes and no and so what.

FYI, there about 274 ways better to use 50 000 bucks, but none of them make me so interested and angry.


Example 1. Being a UK taxpayer.

Example 2. NOT being a UK citizen. I am. thankfully. This is an absurd world.

I dont care how you slice it. 1000 buks, is ALOT for someone, to dump into a game, they are not even sure they are going to stay active in. I suppose, they can always cash out, if they change their mind.But still..

The average person, would have to save up for MONTHS, if not years to have that kind of cash laying around. Or use up most of their tax return.Unless you live somewhere for free, or very cheap somehow. The math just dont support it.

( avg cost of living, for food, rent, electric, car, internet, being say,1.5-3k a month, and avg salary being 1.5-3k a month)

If you ( or any others) disagree about it being alot of money, you either dont pay enough in taxes, or you are filthy rich and have no idea what is like to be an average working person, with family and responsibilities. Therefore, anything you say, is ignorant to me, and I would make better time making a conversation with a hammer.
