A friend and I were saying that metabolic rate was defined as the same as listed under passive skill buff
As NUTRIO CONSUMED PER HOUR

I haven't tested so.. it's still speculation

I was also thinking...
What if all pets consume nutrio at a standard rate (not including skill buff)
Then
METABOLIC RATE is just how fast..?
How fast pet performs standard rate of consumption.....
Higher METABOLIC consumes faster and exp goes up faster and... focus goes up faster

So this is just my speculation, no real facts yet but if someone has tests or knows plz feel free to answer

Changes

To avoid confusion with similarly-named taming system effects, two existing Mindforce effects have been renamed. ‘Metabolic Acceleration’ now refers to increased pet food consumption. The avatar run-speed buff is now known simply as ‘Acceleration’.

‘Metabolic Deceleration’ now refers to decreased pet food consumption. The avatar run-speed debuff is now known as ‘Deceleration’.

So, assuming that a pet's metabolic rate is the same as nutrio per hour as indicated in the passive skill buff, then a ratio for pet economy can be formed,.which would look something like this:
attachment.php

Metabolic per skill gain increase
MPS
the lower the number the more eco in this particular case

Not to say a pet is really any better than another pet. I feel all pets are in a beta stage and many more pets and pet skills will be released soon.

Based on the few different "classes" of pets I have available, it's just that: # of PEC tt Nutrio/hour the pet consumes on idle.

what do you mean exactly, can you give example?

What part is unclear; "#", "tt of nutrio" or "consumed on idle"?

Example: You feed a pet 100 PEC (1 PED) tt of nutrio. You spawn it, and do no tricks with it.

With a "Metabolic rate" of 50, it would all be gone in 2 hours (2*50 = 100).
With a "Metabolic rate" of 25, it would all be gone in 4 hours (4*25 = 100).

That's my understanding. If it's wrong, I expect corrections.

Ancient Snablesnot Male

Idle Consumption

99.9 start I believe
4 hours 11 minutes
88.1
57 nutrio to replenish
99.9 upon replenish

11.8 energy used in 4 hours 11 minutes
i think that time is 4.183333 (as math fraction)? <<< 11 minutes converts to 18.3333 as a percent

so.... 2.82 energy per hour?

let me check math.....

if 2.82 per hour then...
2.82 * 4.183333 = 11.7999999

so yeah that works..

I didn't check energy at start... all I know for sure is that I couldn't feed him any more food.....
so ... that should be 9.99 start..... right?

Conclusion:
Ancient Snablesnot-Male :: Metabolic Rate 12
Uses 2.82 Energy per hour
<--- based on 1 test (more to come)

This is one test.. if anyone has more tests on other pets; feel free to provide data..
Will do more testing later.

11942 exp ----->100% focus------> performed sit
11950 exp------ new exp after sit (adds 8 exp)------->performed sit again (99% focus)
11958 exp ------>adds 8 more exp

Using Sit Trick @ 99-100% focus adds 8 exp
11959 exp----->sit (@94% focus)
11966 exp----->adds 7 exp (instead of 8..)

Conclusion:
Using Sit command (highest possible to perform)
Adds 8 exp when used at 99-100%
Proved that when used at less (94%)
It gives less exp (7 exp)

another test completed
exactly one hour

--feed pet
100% energy
12292 exp

12310
97.5% energy

18 exp gained
cost 2.5 energy
hour elapsed

Conclusion:
IDLE ONLY // ANC SNABLESNOT MALE ONLY
2.5 en/hour
18 exp/hour

TEST3 another hour session

12327 exp start
99.9% energy
affection/mood 100%

end result after 1 hour
12345
97.4

conclusion
18 exp gained
18exp/hour IDLE
2.5 en/hour consumed

it's likely something was off in first test now.
as these last 2 tests were identical.
I'm going to exclude first test from future results.

So does my (strong) suspicion fit - that it's the # of nutrio tt (= PEC) / hour on idle?

From my observations it is indeed literal pec of tt nutrio consumed/decayed from the pet in an hour if left idle.

Yup it is - tested with panther with and without buff... whats more activating buf adds the extra cost of energy/h in metabolic description and it looks like:
10.00 without buff on
10.00 + 1.00 with buff on

The descirption of the buff has 1.00 Energy/h so it is kinda obvious metabolic means exactly that.

I doubt there is anything more into it.
