I was reading through the Competgame.com website, looking at all the FAQs and came across this;

What will happen to existing Entropia Universe pet deeds?

Existing pet deeds will continue to work, but the tamed creatures will have a unique status and cannot be tamed any further.

What does this mean? All those Sapphire and Ruby pets will has a unique stunted status? Any Dev comments?

Cheers

Not sure when that FAQ was updated but I'm guessing they are referring to our old Ancient Pets?

I dont know about that, the Compet website is fairly new. I think MA need to clarify how Compet will effect current pets. Really they should only freeze new pets once Compet starts if thats what they plan to do. You wouldnt want to pay 10kped for a Hogglo Black to find it cant be used further in Q4 2015.

I agree, it seems pretty clear MA were referring to Ancients. There're pictures of the current devils, dragons and bunnies on the compet site.

That said things have moved on there're pets now with similar metabolic rates to ancients. Maybe you might have to shrink them to fit into compet "who shrunk the kids" type teleporter to compet.....who knows.

Valid question of course considering a big investment into a new super hogglo. Nothing to say though that any new hyper charged metabolic rate pet has an advantage. We might have to specialise our pets with different attacks and experience, maybe even categories.

I also wanted to pass some info on about pets in EU that I read last night from the competgame.com website. Rumours I have heard are quite contrary to what it says.
This is at the bottom of the homepage.

You do realize that this here "Yau Kung Mun"-pet will never become "unique" right?

That part in your post about "existing pets" was aimed at pets that were tamed pre vu10, such as the "Ancient Snable-Snot" type pets, which are not a part of the compet-era as it were.

Hope your right. Maybe more pets with interesting buffs will be coming, who knows.

Like some for mining.

That quote originally comes from the FAQ issued in August 2014, following the announcement of the ComPet system (http://www.entropiauniverse.com/bulletin/buzz/2014/08/08/ComPet-Bulletin--1.xml)

...How does the ComPet app relate to the reimplemented Entropia Universe taming system that was announced not long ago?
As explained in the original ComPet announcement, the ‘traditional’ Entropia Universe taming system that was disabled after Version Update 10.0 will be reimplemented, with some exciting new features. In additon, the recently auctioned Entropia Universe stables will have the ability to sell pets and services to ComPet players.

Will Entropia Universe pets function in the traditional way, such as following your avatar, doing tricks, etc.?
As explained above, Entropia Universe pets will have all of their old functionality, along with lots of new features.

Will whips still be a part of the Entropia Universe taming process?

Whips will work as they did in the original Entropia Universe taming system.

What will happen to existing Entropia Universe pet deeds?
Existing pet deeds will continue to work, but the tamed creatures will have a unique status and cannot be tamed any further.

At that time, the EU taming system had not yet been re-introduced - that didn't occur until October 2014 - and the only 'existing' pet deeds were the ones from pre-VU10 taming.

/mod note/ This post, and all the above comments about this aspect are out of place in a Selling thread and will be moved to the existing discussion thread on the same topic: https://www.planetcalypsoforum.com/forums/showthread.php?273163-Competgame
