Creating custom channel difficulty

So I wanted to create a private custom channel that I can use when I am mentoring and while I have read the help info I wanted to know if anyone has successfully created a private custom channel and actually invited players to use it because I can't seem to get my channel to work.

I have created the channel but I can't invite to it. I have tried /invite [#custom-channel] [playername] and I get Error: invalid channel name. Try/help for more information.

I know the channel exists because I can see it and type on it.

I have followed what prompts there were in the /help but that this is about as informative as a parrot talking.

Any help would be wonderful

Try ditching the brackets around [#custom-channel]. ie, don't use a link, just type it in.

(I'm not in-game at the moment, so obviously I can't check that, but in general with those commands it's just a typed name not a link)

So I typed it as /invite #customchannel [playerlink] and bam it worked thanks for the assistance again
