The latest Version Update brings the first stage of the long-awaited CLD Estates system. Calypso Land Deed (CLD) holders will have the opportunity to use their CLDs to bid on CLD Estate plots located in two beautiful new residential locations. New settlements with additional CLD Estate plots will be added in upcoming Version Updates.

Development of structures on CLD Estates will be implemented in Autumn 2015, with larger plots planned to accommodate more advanced structures with potential commercial functions such as shopping and more.

Plots are available in four standard sizes and will offer different development opportunities depending on size.

Small+40 x 20 m54 CLD18 CLD1500 x Composite Plank

Large60 x 60 m162 CLD54 CLD5000 x Composite Plank

Claiming CLD Estate Plots
CLD Estate plots will become available on Wednesday, June 17.

CLD Estate plots are claimed with Calypso Land Deeds. To claim a plot, interact with the Plot Terminal located with the normal Estate Terminal near each plot. ***Note that the Plot Terminals will not be visible until the plots become available on June 17***

The Plot Terminal will display the Address and current CLD Requirement to claim the plot, along with the time remaining until the next requirement update when the CLD Requirement will decrease (until the minimum CLD Requirement is reached).

Larger plots may also have an additional requirement in the form of building materials; unlike the CLD Requirement, additional requirements do not decrease over time.

After clicking the Buy button, a confirmation dialog will appear confirming the conversion of the required Calypso Land Deeds to Calypso Land Deed (X) items to claim the selected plot.

Calypso Land Deeds (X) continue to receive weekly CLD revenue, but can no longer be used to claim CLD Estate plots.

Note that some of the plots in the new settlements are reserved for future use and are not able to be claimed. Each settlement features a large bazaar in the center as well as service centers on the outskirts and small 10x10m plots for monuments and other functions.

Answering a lot of questions

so the CLD revenue isn't lost or do I miss something?

The revenue is kept. But the cld couldn't be use to buy an other field

As has been said before in the preview: CLD X remain identical to CLDs except you can't buy land with them.

ETA and since i'm third in saying essentially the same thing, let me also say: shades of apartments and shopping malls. Deja vu!

I thought the whole idea behind this was to remove the CLDs including it's revenue or like a "buyback" from MA. This way it doesn't make sence.. Nerf prolly comming :)

No that is what speculators said would happen based on no factual information at all.

Interesting to see the possibility to manufacture shops etc in the future. Farmville meets EU. The images reminds me of something from Sim city.

Now that you can fish.. taco is going to buy clds now. Lol.

That was the idea in The World That Makes Sense. We live in an alternate virtual universe where MA logic rules. ;)

WTF? A small plot costs resources too?

I'm bad at math or MA? :scratch2:
Even at min. req. it's 2.25 times smaller (6.75 times smaller at start req.) than MA originally promised (even not talking about compensation for 2 years delay).

44.44 square meters instead of 100 with min. req.
14.81 square meters instead of 100 with start req.

Did I miss something?
Or that only during "stage 1" CLD Estate Plots?

In total, sixty thousand (60,000) Land Lot deeds will be created, each representing a 100 square meter plot on Planet Calypso.

Land Lot Deed holders will be able to build house(s) on the plot(s) they have staked out. (Minimum of 9 plots in a 3x3 format suitable for a structure). This system development is scheduled to begin in 2013.

CLD Plot Types

Do not worry. A nerf will come when enough have converted their CLDs I'm pretty sure :)

This will make a tonne of money for MA. Some plots are average, some have views.

I think the idea is really good...

just it's expected to finally have cities (if everyone can afford building costs) and it's quite exiting :)

PS: Going to BO small plots might be a wrong move imho, while big ones are indeed attractive, what I didn't get is if these 60x60 are the more sized plots we'll see in EU.

Some information about what you can build there would be interessting and maybe needed, before the auction starts.

I have not much interesst in buying some land just to find later out that you can only build some new exciting appartments there.

Judging from the known requirements my guess is you don't get a choice and it simply enables the structure when you put enough of the planks in the estate marker.

Looking at the way it will work i.e. first to bid will get the plot I think most if not all will go within a couple of hours possibly to only a handful of people.

Does this mean that there will be non-standard larger plots or those 4 sizes (S, S+, M and L) will be only sizes available in this system?

Will CLD(X) remain tradeable??

If you remembered the introduction, you would remember that you did not just buy a land deed, but you bought citizenship. And with it, you would receive: right to claim land, revenues AND voting rights. Yes, that's right... three benefits. Not one of these three, being forced to chose, but three.

So your MA bashing in this instance, is misplaced (as much as I like bashing them...)

Isn't 20 x 20 the same as 400, not 44,44?

Your math teacher is crying right now. :silly2:
