Setting render distance to very high from high causes huge FPS drop (120 fps to 10-15) when looking at the bank in twin peaks (as well as other places in the game world).

Is this a known issue? Computer is not an issue, specs should allow for steady 120fps rendering in this game (and it does so in normal situations)

That used to happen when looking at a certain direction on Boreas TP. To lower the draw distance a bit seemed to help. Don't know if it's the same bug or not.

This was the thread where ppl discussed it not long ago. Mindark is so slow with the fixes that I don't care anymore too.

We need to adapt to the bugs and keep going! LOL

Turn terrain detail down to about half way worked for me.

Can confirm now that the setting causing the issue is terrain quality. Draw distance helped treat the symptoms, but not the cause. It was just hiding terrain that was gpu-intensive due to terrain quality setting bug.

Example: looking towards the volcano from [74367, 67312, 139] causes the low FPS.

Solution: Set terrain quality under 70-80% to regain maximum FPS.

Support case filed, with some luck they might address it in a couple of years

I had this problem in some a areas and instances.

Locking the v-synch in the options menu fixed the issue for me.
