Question: Do mining claims disappear over time if you don't extract them

I am very new to mining my question is because while I was mining the other day. I started backtracking to extract claims and it seems as if they were disappearing as they were showing on the map. BTW I was using the show on map option and as I was extracting it seem like the claims were vanishing. Maybe my mind was playing tricks on me but either way I had a great run. Just curious is all. Thanks for the input.

Depending on the claim size, you have a certain amount of time to extract the resources. Smaller claims are an hour. You can look at the claim deed in your inventory to find out how much time is remaining for you to extract the resources. Perhaps this is what happened to your claims?

Thanks I will have to keep that in mind for the future as my returns might have been a little better. Live and learn as they say.
