Idea: Account bound weapon that you can improved

Had an idea that I thought was pretty cool.

What if there was a weapon adaptation system that allowed you to adapt and modify your weapon as you progress your avatar skills.

- As the weapon is upgraded, so is the requirement to max it.

- Upgrading the weapon requires:
Resources from mobs slightly above what the weapon can handle.​
Components from different crafting branches "mods".​

- The weapon class/type follows the weapon throughout its lifetime.

- Weapon attributes such as speed/range/dmg etc is "rolled" on a luck factor where Low= Average for SIB weapons at that lvl requirement, Medium= Good High= Great...these attributes are re-rolled once the weapon gets upgraded.

- If the weapon is tiered at upgrade these tiers count towards better tier rate values on the upgraded weapon.

Thoughts, ideas? :)

I hate account bound stuff, it's a poison to everything this game used to be.

or less melodramatic: nope, not being able to sell stuff annoys me because once they change stuff or add new things you, blew money on something that just sits in your storage. Also, it would devalue L weapons, so less return. I dunno, I'd say no, even hell no.
 
They should do this but only once an item reaches tier 10. After an item reaches tier 10, you have the option of going up to the next level.. i.e. regular -> adjusted -> improved -> modified

Yea thinking about it some more I agree actually, lets not have it account bound..it could be similar to the current quests for FAP's and Healship when it comes to the size of investment...however with relevant cost for each upgrade step (what ever relevant is :) )

Come on... account bound non-TTable guns will be awesome when they only thing we can loot is universal ammo.

Terrible idea, like all others ideas which confining free market and reducing liquidity and capital movements inside economy.

ALL ITEMS ingame shall be tradeable, dropable, TTable and have TT value ( even tiny )

That backbone of economy especialy so small like EU one. I find all trading restrictions and binding to accounts as socialistic and keynesian.

If I wanted to play Anarchy online then I would just go and play Anarchy online. Stop trying to change this game into some other game.

Anything that increases demand of items sounds like a good idea to me :).
 
Isn't this what tiering was introduced for?

tbh they've already moved far enough from the RCE to introduce this. Besides that I'm assuming this is UL otherwise only certain people will even be willing to upgrade a weapon they'll break.

That happened last year, now we got more UL stuff then we have players ^^ sooooooo...


I think its a great idea!

No really that has been in my thoughts, it would be awesome if we could make parts that swap out with other guns parts to make faster reload, or more accuracy, or more damage.

The value of UL stuff is already dead, this would be a step forward.

But not the account bound... a modified weapon should be available to be modded more should you get tired and want a different type or weapon to mess with.
 
Not wanting to hijack your thread, but already doint it so, I believe a better idea would be a recycling terminal. Like, we TT a lot of broken L stuff, if recycled could return the current TT value in some randon material of what it was crafted with or some metal/energy residue.

Variance, variety, diversity ...

To have alternatives is always great thing. Higher variety for decisions = higher peace for various (man) features within community. People are so different and media will have higher power if filled expectations of many. Matters just balancing on appearance/timing/extent/weight of news.


[If minority is overgranted (say new principles will have better outcomes) - then minority rules will start win on majority and majority will get "forced" to change.
Angle 1: Any progress started by minority (=genious), just we should not bet on ANY minority at the time. Like words (each = minority = part of higher meaning) do form sentences (majority=groups of minorities) of higher meaning, same way any minorities in our life should appear through right timing (first word --> second word --> ....) to bring winner portion of knowledge (sentence of words or even chapter/tale) for us.
Angle 2: unlimited state (=non (L)) gear really means users will have lesser communication with outer world and "communication" will happen mostly with repair and trade terminals to repair unlimited gear and buy ammo. Q:What that means? A:unlimited gear is advertising for loner style on final. Compared to (L) gear. In case of (L), extra questions happen directed towards community: where to get (L) gear? why there are market fluctuations on supplies/demand/prices? how to help to (L) gear manufacturers/providers to be deserved to get it cheaper? and many other questions leading to additional communication levels with outer world.
I'm sure now you are trying to argue I'm not right and there are many adds after unlimited gear bringing us to form teams, groups, to ignit discussions of efficient use, but still I wish you to compare same gear of limited and unlimited on that research which type will cause higher communication.
I should explain why I brought here communication. I'm 100% sure communication is the way to easier solver of problems for mankind. Communication = activity = services = search for your unique space and missions in life = purifier for directions to move.
It could probably sound bit weird from my lips, for those who know me, but personally my bet is on higher communication in EU. But still my bet is also on respect towards true loners or persons who decided to play role of loner for some time to taste that. To mention: there are alot of communication methods different than chat and at times way more efficient solvers. So, loners due to our subjective meaning, might not look loners if to put beam of info into prism and view signal at Angle X :D

Remember - Variance is our Power, Variance is God (and vice versa). Though Chaos also likes high variance. Great thing we recognize it and being in peace (to objective things) we call it Normally distributed :D
