Are some blue/grey quad wings faster than others in space?

I'm curious, are some of those blue grey quad wings are faster than others?

I took off out of space port yesterday, no red triangles around, I flew for about 5 minutes toward Monria, I was looking back the whole time to make sure nobody was following me. Then, a red triangle appeared faintly in the distance back where the space station was. It grew larger really fast, like less than a minute it was on me firing and took me out.

I was going in a straight line in order to go as fast as I could, I had a head start, I was at a constant speed. The only way someone could close on me and catch up was if they somehow could go a lot faster than I was going in my normal quad wing. Or if they could short cut me, since it came from directly behind this was not the case. This was not an eqquis(sp). It was same color as mine blue/grey color. When he got on top of me I turned and fired just to see if I could hit him some. I can't remember the avatars name, "Lame" or something like that

I was just amazed at how fast this ship closed on me and shot me down. Really amazing. Now I want a fast one too.

There was an exploit that was used previously that was able to make the ships go faster. I don't know if they fixed it or if it just has returned.

The so called 'speed hack' has been around a long time. Once the preserve of pirates proof of how it works was eventually found and sent to MA complete with video footage. To date no fix has been made by MA, and it is not clear if they consider it a exploit or a game mechanic, as they have been strangely silent about it.

I see one of the posters in that thread who are now banned on the forum is still operating in space this way with no effort by MA to stop it, same MA story, different year

I think there is more to the speed Quads travel at then meets the eye. Whatever the causeis it is way beyond me.

When I was trading out of Rocktropia I used to have Omega Dan Prime and Bullet tooth Tony escort me back to Caly on a regular basis. One time in particular I had over 10 K of ores and enmatts on me and I was able to outrun Bullet and Dan like there was no tomorrow and had to stop several times for them both to catch up to me.

On that occassion Bullet for some reason travelled faster than Dan whilst I travelled faster then both of them. Would be more inclined to think this is a connection / information situation than anything else. I always run on very high graphics.

I have heard that some people use very low graphics as this gives better response time. Pwesonally I do not know.

internet conection , ping , procesor , GFX ,and hdd/ssd affect fly speed too

+ famous map spamming .... wonder if they ever fix that

Thanks for the feedback, I run on low graphics settings. Maybe he was on Safe Mode

I think that connection speed and your computers power used to play a role in speed, but no longer does. It seems the game will sorta nudge you along now days if that is causing a slow down. Follow someone with them targeted and watch the tiny fluctuations in their distance and you'll see what I mean.

PC power has a big role to play in the map spam exploit though. I have a pretty strong system, so If I decide to really exploit the trick, I can hit the games hard speed limit, which causes some interesting effects. Chances has a vid up around here of me running him down with the map thing. I catch him pretty quickly, but it's still only like a third of the exploits capabilities. Thanks, that's some of the detail I was wondering about.

I'm fascinated and somewhat impressed that people have enough time and computer knowledge to figure this stuff out and exploit it in the game, but its a big turnoff for me from wanting to want to travel from point a to b in space at all.

Which is a perfectly reasonable stance, and yet another reason why MA needs to unfuck this.

Does Mind Ark compensate if you get hurt by a exploit that they refuse to fix?

I wonder if you can sue them, cause this is pretty bad for a game like Entropia. I don't think the EULA can protect them from this. This is close to frauding and I know Sweden government takes frauding seriously.

ToS protects them against everything and they can just close your account w/o any explanations

Every ToS is contestable,though you'd need a good reason to even bother.
