Thinking about trying this game again, how is the current state?

Was watching SAO2 last night and it got me wanting to play EU again, I've been away for about a year now, has anything changed? Looked over the HOF forums and am barely seeing any good posts this month, I remember it being flooded with posts daily... Is EU in bad shape? how are returns? What should I go tackle with my setup? (gremlin +5b's, zero-four +beast)

People hof on explosive ammo clicks but are too embarrassed to post those. Alternatively they don't socialize nor see the point to socializing when they can buy any material they need from TT. No teaming, no buying and really no selling except right back to TT.

That said, people who play the actual game seem to have fun.
 
Nothing changed realy except few new fireworks ( pets, rings, boxes ). Less and less ppl is participating. It is also visible in decreasing forum activity. Average logged ppl is under 200. Used to be sub 300 same months last year. I assume same goes for activity ingame. As you noticed ATH's and HOF's are adequate for ingame activity too and nothing fancy here either.

Old players sit on CLD's or wait for better times with their precious gear becoming cheaper and cheaper each month. Mostly fanboys and newcomers are active.

Ma is realising systematic program of introducing uber gear at low prices. Last vistim of it are faps ( adj fap is 2/3 price for what it was year ago ). Armors are cheap already. Program of making game more casino is already at full developement with Explosive Projectiles BP's. Cheap residue didn't impacted economy as MA expected.

However it is not rock bottom yet and real crysis is ahead, time for cheap buys soon and thats one of good reason to coming back here after longer break. Unless you are masochist who like throwing out money in almost deserted, highly taxed, legendary bugged MMO.
 
Depends, EU seems quite stable. But MU is different story, ELM guns had huge influence in all the spectra. I would say: Go and try. If you want deposit, pay for universal ammo or peds only, since in your situation strongboxes lack sense. By my opinion,with gremlin and zero-four attached with beast I would go something under 1K HP with small or no regen. Maybe feffoids/allophyls/mid argos depending on your iron mission progress. If you are able to borrow or buy range protect armor I would go for drones/drokas or harbingers. But there is also possibility to go to another planets but I dont know mobs there.

EU is a great game. It filters the weak out from the strong. The impatient from the patient. There is a lot of opportunity in this game if your willing to play outside of the box. If you wanna do what everyone else is doing expect to pay for it.

Don't expect the HOF forums to pick up anytime soon. HOFs used to be exciting, but nowadays most HOFs come from cycling massive amounts of PED (condition crafting, hunting Dasps, cycling D-classes on FOMA, etc) so no one is really that excited to share them.
 
Thanks for the replies guys, I tried with $10 just to see how trox would treat me... not really looking to play the buy/sell/wait/mu game, just something to waste time. Got a few good loots off the 10$ and a 50~ ped swirl... Overall, I think I'll go back to my ps4.

What's a ps4? Is it RCE? Can you sell your skills on this ps4? What about loot? Is it any good?
 
probably saw that he looted 70% crapnel and ammo and the other 30% sold for 101% so he just logged off..

I'd do the same honestly..

^oh I'm such a newb, on such a small hunt... my entropialife profile proves that.

Actually, logged back in on Sunday to continue the hunt, about 1400ped in globals alone off that $10 deposit... so not too bad... it just gets really boring after a while compared to all the other games at my disposal.

Having said all that, all the sours got me itching to go out again! See you guys and gals in space!

for me:
tt return is like 95 % on the long run for hunting at least, so I need like 6 % markup for a marginale Profit if I dont pay any Markup, thats doable
 
Current state of game is, that those ppl who want to profit can do so. There are many gamblers ingame atm, meaning lots of profits can be made from them or thanks to them. Also as you might already notice there are bunch of inactive players who love to attack those who still spend money ingame, but with the help of tracker it is rather easy to sort them out (also you can use ignore feature on forum to avoid seeing posts from them). Best of luck being back ingame.

I was asking about the economy, not to start an argument with nibs that can't aim a quad and want to dictate how I play a game with my money.
