I get gifts from family/friends each year during certain occasions and never do I complain about the qty. Perhaps you do?
Let's say that every year, your spouse/parents/significant other/whatever gives you a pair of socks and a new Xbox or something for your birthday. Then one year, they give you a pair of socks and tell you that they will sell you raffle tickets for a drawing for an Xbox or whatever.
Now, if your spouse/parents/significant other/whatever were having financial or some other difficulties and couldn't give out presents one year, you wouldn't think twice about it and you'd do whatever you could to help them out. But, if you had taken the time to find them the perfect gift for every occasion and then, when your birthday rolls around, they decide they'd rather spend the money on a weekend in Vegas for themselves, wouldn't that cause you to be a little concerned about that relationship?
Or, let's say that your employer gives an annual year-end bonus which is a substantial part of your salary. Then, around December 28th, instead of handing you your bonus check, they give you a membership to the jelly-of-the-month club and tell you that, if you work a bunch of unpaid overtime, you have a chance to win your bonus check. Even a dimwitted corporate lackey would have to be smart enough to start looking around to see what other opportunities exist in the job market.
But this is neither of those. MA are not my family, friends, or employer. They are a company with whom I do business. Part of the fun of playing the game is receiving the odd little gifts or bonus items throughout the year. Additionally, I spend a lot of money on their services, and also own an apartment that I have no real use for.
If they were so busy or having difficulties to the point where they couldn't afford to pay the developers to come up with new items, I would be disappointed, but I would understand. That isn't really the situation here, though. They handed out some recycled trinket from last year, developed a completely new set of items similar to the sort of bonus items that we normally would have received, and decided that it would be really cool if we were to pay extra money for the opportunity to win them.
Forgive me if I am a little disappointed.
