Hi all, I'm setting out on a quest to rediscover the feeling of fun mining. For a couple years I've been profit driven in mining. My primary goal was to mine ores on distant planets, haul back my bounty, sell it, and repeat. This tedious process did earn me some nice income, however I've grown weary of the grind. I'm ready to get back to having fun, mine where I want, and have a good time.

I'll be logging my experience here, because it was an enjoyable aspect when I started mining. This is my old log if anyone is interested in reading.

I will track TT, cost, return, and update MU as I sell stuff.

Trip Notes: Well here's my first run. I spent some time exploration mining and walking around, collecting fruit and stones. The trip ended up a bit down, but it felt good to be out and about in my old spots, it was good dose of nostalgia. :) Next trip is in progress. I hope that the stat layout is readable for you guys, its a direct copy and paste from my spreadsheet. Also I'll be keeping a separate tally of my fruit and stone finds, its not being added to the balance sheet. :)

It'd be great if you could get the other AA miners to have a combined log/competition style of thing.
not on turnover but just final figure type of thing.
 
70% is what I was averaging mining planetside ("exploring") as well in the past couple of weeks. If you could approximate your return after markup that would be really great also!

P.S - You're using UL Level 2?
 
Thanks everyone. :) That would be interesting Jod, lol. I probably won't calculate MU after each run, but first run I actually did out of curiosity. I ended up with about 75p of MU at -1% of auction prices. Yep, it's UL. :cool:
 
Now we know who bought an UL Level 2 for 15k ;)

Trip Notes: This was a fun trip, quite eventful. :) I had some real nice fruit picks, even though the last 2 hours walking were pretty slow. I got the force nexus HOF early on in my run, 10 drops in. I switched location to try for some redulite, did get 1 claim, but burnt more in DEs than that paid out. I did get a belkar global there though so its cool. My last narcanisum HOF was really unexpected, definitely starting out right on this log. :cool: I even got a SOOTO, .11 hansidian and .16 angel scales. :D Time to start trip #3. :wtg:

Trip Notes: Pretty uneventful this run. I had a XII mid run so that brought my return up some. Naturals were scarce, I walked 3 hours or so, and only one brukite pick this time. Sold some stuff, I just wanted to note that the markup shown on my overall is calculated with the auction fee deducted, however the average mu% is before the fee. No swirlies this time, on to the next one! :) GL all.

Trip Notes: Well, somehow I messed up on my probe cost, counting only 449.5 ped for the first three runs, when the real cost was 499.5. I corrected the first three posts. Luckily I caught that fairly early on, although it drops my profit down some...grrr. :D Anyway this run went good, got a 292p HOF mid run, so that helped bring it up again. I didn't walk any this time so no natural picks. GL, all. :)

Trip Notes: Roller coaster trip! The first 500 drops were terrible! ended up at about 35% TT to start, the last 500 really changed things though. I was contemplating whether to quit early and cut my losses, but ultimately I decided no guts no glory. I'm glad I didn't! I had a couple HOFs 540p and 322p, that saved this run. I decided to stop here though instead of recycling. I feel like I got lucky this run, and came out almost even. This was my attempt at this year's Gold Rush. :cool: I might try a few runs on Ark surface. GL, all. ;)

Lol, yeah I realized long ago that it doesn't make any difference to sensor stuff when you're doing a public log. If people want to find out where you mine they'll figure it out. Most screenies I see, I can put together a pretty good picture of where it is. They may as well be a blacked out screenshot. :laugh:

I didn't think it was possible to break even on two level 13s lmao! I wonder if the enhancers were a big part of your success here?
 
Could have been. By my calculation I searched equivalent to 4.8 extra radiuses by using them. Seems like it would make a difference on FOMA with 13's. Would need a lot bigger sample size to really see the results though. This was my first time trying it too. :)
 
I have a tier10 MD-50 and tried once to use in all slots range enh. Was interesting so might give it another try sometime again =)
