Q. Why Should I Vote?
A. The impact of virtual reality on the real world will be as far reaching and as monumental as the impact of the internet. Because of the deeply immersive nature of virtual reality and the very significant number of hours typically invested in personal avatars while exploring and engaging with virtual Reality, the rights of individuals must be taken into consideration as the universal laws of virtual reality take shape. By registering as a citizen of virtual reality and voting, you can help shape the laws that will protect your rights and also make certain your voice is heard by developers throughout the world as the future of virtual reality is defined.
Q. If I Play World of Warcraft or League of Legends, why should I register to vote here?
A. The business models for MMORPG's have changed significantly over the last 20 years from subscription based games to Free2Play games with microtransactions. Virtual Reality will bring about a new era for MMOG's and gamers. By identifying yourself as a citizen of virtual reality you will be sending a message to all developers that you value the time you invest in playing and you wish them to consider the needs and rights of the users as they develop the next generation of virtual reality MMOG's that will most certainly be even more immersive than the ones of the past.
Q. I already have an avatar in Entropia Universe, will the President of Virtual Reality play a role in the future of our Universe?
A. Entropia Universe for over a decade has been the test bed for virtual reality systems developed by Mindark. The full democratic voting system will be provided to the users of Entropia Universe after the presidential election to elect officials to represent interests throughout Entropia Universe. The President of Virtual Reality will work with elected officials and Mindark to help define the future of Entropia Universe.
Q. I am only interested in social and educational virtual reality applications. Why would I consider myself as a citizen of virtual reality?
A. Students in schools and colleges and users of social networks all feel very deeply about their rights and privacy. By aligning yourself with other citizens of virtual reality you will be positioning yourself to be heard by the developers of all types of Virtual Reality applications.
Q. When do I get my free VR Day commemorative strongbox?
A. Everyone who votes in the election will be awarded free virtual commemorative Strongboxes with surprises inside. You will receive instructions on how to claim you Free VR Day commemorative strongbox after you cast your vote.
Q. What does Artificial Intelligence have to do with VR?
A. The impact of AI on our world will be life changing. Citizens of virtual reality will engage very deeply with AI on a level playing field, as both humans and AI will take digital forms. The virtual reality government will play a very active role in the oversight of the development of Artificial Intelligence and will be much closer to the front lines than real world governments when issues arise that may impact your virtual identity.

Do you have a vision for the future of virtual reality? Would you like to run for President?
Q. What do I have to do to campaign to become President?
A. Create an Entropia Universe avatar account. Send an email to
candidate@presidentofVirtualReality.com with the following information: Real name, address and contact info. Copy of National ID. ( Driver's license or Passport). Your full Entropia Universe Avatar Name. Optional: Include a Short manifesto and Bio that we can publish. Provide a link to your own campaign page or website. Once you have sent your info, you will be provided with payment options for the $1,000 USD ballot registration fee.
Q. Who am I submitting my personal information to?
A. The Election for the President of Virtual Reality is being organized and sponsored by Mindark PE AB. We are a Swedish virtual reality developer. We have been pioneering virtual reality system development since 1998. We have designed a virtual democratic voting system that will be used to support the virtual reality government. We will work with content and hardware developers worldwide to create a united virtual reality. We will also subsidize through the GNP of our virtual reality platform Entropia Universe approved expenses for the Presidential Office. for more info about Mindark visit mindark.com
Q. Why is there a $1,000 filing Fee?
A. We will raise awareness globally for the Presidential Election and provide registered voters with the official ballot when the election begins. The registration fee is to ensure that all names on the ballot are serious about their campaigns. Without a fee there might be hundreds of thousands of candidate names for voters to sort through.
Q. How do I campaign to become President?
A. You will need to organize and fund your own presidential marketing Campaign. Voting is open to everyone in the world so you will need to identify where you are most likely to find support. For example, if you have a well-known avatar in a virtual world or an online game you may want to focus your campaigning on related forums. If you are an Icon in the music industry you may want to rally your fan base. If you are a tech Icon, you may reach out to your followers via social media. If you are visionary or a Pioneer, you may need to employ creative or viral marketing tactics.
Q. How Many Votes will I need to win the Election?
A. Since this is the first ever election for the President of Virtual Reality, we don't yet know how many registered voters there will be.
Q. Will all votes be counted equally?
A. Each registered voter will have one Vote. Voters will be provided a questionnaire prior to the election to determine their current level of experience in virtual reality. Votes will be weighted according to experience and current involvement in virtual reality. For example if your auntie registers to vote and her only experience with VR is from watching the movie The Matrix, then her vote might count as one, but if she registers to vote with her Facebook account and shares the news of the election with her friends the weight of her vote will increase. If your sister registers to vote and she is a self-proclaimed Minecraft fanatic, her vote will outweigh your brother who only plays cricket. If your cousin is the founder of a gigantic social network and he registers his company to join the coalition for a United Virtual Reality, his company will receive a maximum voting weight. If your uncle is the owner of a virtual reality medical training company and that company registers to join the coalition, then his company may also receive a maximum weighted vote. If everyone on a large social network registered to vote, those Votes would far outweigh the vote of the social network company itself. If you yourself have an avatar in Entropia Universe and have been active for ten years then your vote will outweigh a noob who started last month.
Q. When will we know exactly how the Votes are weighted?
A. Full disclosure of the voting mechanism will be made in the weeks prior to the start of the actual election in February 2016.
Q. How will we know the votes are counted fairly?
A. All votes will be counted and audited by Price Waterhouse Cooper.
Q. When will the polls open?
A. February 2016.
Q. When will the polls close?
A. March 2016.
Q. Will I get paid to be the president of Virtual Reality?
A. The first President of Virtual Reality will be an unpaid position. Subject to preapproval by Mindarks’ Board of Directors, travel and accommodation expenses for official presidential business will covered, as will other presidential initiatives approved by the board.
Q. Where will the money come from to pay Governmental expenses?
A. Initially government expenses will be financed from a percentage of the GNP of Entropia Universe. New companies that join the Virtual Reality Coalition may also choose to contribute to the government expenses. As more companies join and choose to contribute to the government expenses a dedicated virtual reality congress will be established to approve budgets and initiatives.
Q. What if the demands upon the president become so great that it becomes a full time Job?
A. It is recommended that you only run for the position of president on this first election if you are financially able to make a serious time commitment. It is possible that it will become a paid position in the near future, but not guaranteed.
Q. Why is Mindark Sponsoring the Presidential election?
A. Mindark believes that virtual reality is bigger than one developer and that the future of virtual reality should be determined and voted for democratically by the people who have chosen to inhabit it. With the introduction of the Democratic Voting System and election of the first President of Virtual Reality, Mindark is proud to have taken the most important step in fostering the first truly independent Virtual Reality Universe.

Are you a Virtual Reality software or hardware developer? Are you interested in joining the Coalition of developers, apps and worlds powering a United Virtual Reality?
Q. What is the purpose of the coalition?
A. To bring together the great minds investing in and developing Virtual Reality to consider the opportunities that exist for a unified industry versus a fragmented industry and to encourage a commitment among those developers to bring value to mankind.
Q. What is at the top of the agenda for the coalition?
A. Developers who join the coalition will participate in supporting and signing off on an Avatar Bill of Rights and the Virtual Reality Constitution to be prepared by the future President.
Q. If we join the coalition are we making a financial commitment to the Virtual Reality government?
A. No. it will be entirely optional for members of the coalition to provide any support to the government.
Q. What are the advantages of joining the coalition?
A. By joining the coalition your company will be able to vote in the Presidential election and you will be able to support a Candidate whose vision you believe in. Your product will also enjoy the endorsement of The Virtual Reality Coalition, providing confidence to users.
Q. What if we consider our virtual reality products to be in competition with those of Mindark. Why would we join this coalition?
A. Many countries in Europe or states in America compete in business, but they still find ways to work together for the good of the union and the world.
