I like his campign. Aiming for the poor and unemployed avatars. But I tought this competition is not for friends and family of MA. He is like a pro in this, who can win against him :scratch2: Also if you don't vote for him I guess you can't land on Rock-Pop-Tropia anymore :scratch2:
 
Jacobs will commit to creating 1 billion virtual world jobs in his first four year term.

Hell, I'll vote for him. He knows the game really well, is heavily invested in it, has done his part to get outside contracts, and hopefully he can help this game grow.
 
I was wondering if ND was going to run.

Won't say if I'd vote for him though, if someone outside of EU with better credentials (i.e. science background) runs then I probably won't.

edit: sod it, I know I won't vote for him, if there's no one else I'd go for none of the above if it were available.

I think ND would actually try do something with the title. I'm afraid someone random would be doing a half assed job. Whoever is selected have to contain ambition and passion for it. And devote countless hours on it.

The concept as a whole is very big, pretty confident there is not going to happen much unless there a big amount of companies ready to back it up
 
I don't know what is more depressing: that a planet partner is electable in a mindark sponsored event. Or that there are actually people that would vote for him....

I suppose he will get enough votes from those who have their unique and single vote at 100% weight.
We should wish him all the best to be president of tycoon or president of casino and who knows maybe he can be president of WoW too as all can be useful for pr.
He did good things for EU as MA spoke person, then he got foma I mean club Neverdie and a lot of new players, he developed planet RockTropia and another club Neverdie there too and got even more new players in EU.
But somehow cant forget that on RT someone hofed mining on sweat essence.
Also cant forget missions on RT with repeatable attribute gains what caused big change on all missions on all planets.
Well I could pass on that but there was final killing with scanner gate what caused big price drop at first and latter big nerf to scanner tools making all investigator professions obsolete.
 
Is this how news spreads these days? First to supporters who say how great they think it is, then a sprinkling of others who are true enough to themselves to say they disagree, then.... well, some sort of balance between the two.
Threads that start on a high tide - and then the tide slowly goes out.... (I write this quite early on, but it is how I expect the thread to progress in the next 24 hrs or so).

If I weigh up the positives and negatives, then I wouldn't vote for this candidate, no. In fact, definitely and emphatically no! However, I do not have any great ideas on who I WOULD want to vote for. There are a few out there I guess, but this has all the demoralising feel of real world politics to it. No, we don't need to go there - I know!

AFAIK, there are no details on what the role of President would entail and what powers/responsibilities they would have. So as far as I'm concerned, it really doesn't matter at this point. This could be nothing more than a PR stunt.
 
As a planet partner, is ND still considered as a "normal gamer" in EU?

If planet partners can take part in this election, does that mean MA staff / other gamer company staff can also stand for election?

the thing I like about ND (might be wrong tho) is, he seems to be someone who can bring licenced media into the game (Thing, Kong) which will increase the attention EU will receive, he either has contacts or has the gift of the gab.

Why shouldn't planet partners be able to run? Who know the game AND how MA operate better than they do? Neverdie has done everything he can possibly do to try to bring players and help this game succeed. Ya, so what, he had some scandal in the beginning, who cares!! We have all smoked pot before. I wouldn't be opposed to David Dobson either.
Some of you need to step out of the past and look to who can build us a better future in this game. Otherwise, we all lose. And it might only be 30 or 40k for me but I would like to keep it if I could.

Besides, this thing is a teaser, it isn't clearly laid out yet.

I just would like some of you to step off ND's nuts. If you spent anytime at all talking to him, you would soon realize he is doing everything he can for the PLAYER.

Am not against ND as I don't really know him.

In a contest or other such events created by an organization, staff of the organization, or other organizations linked to the original event conduction organization are not usually allowed to take part in the event.

Something to do with ethics and / or conflict of interest I believe.

That being the normal case, will it be beneficial to have a planet partner standing for the election?
