That’s a reaction commonly encountered when describing the uniqueness of Entropia Universe to ‘real worlders’.
Considering that the items being offered for Entropia Universe’s 2015 year-end sale are not only imaginary but also invisible, those types of reactions might become even more frequent!

[h=4]Introducing the Exclusive, Limited Edition Ethereal Armor[/h]Completely transparent, Ethereal armor keeps the apparel beneath visible, while providing supreme protection against all types of damage. A slight shimmering effect is apparent when in close proximity to an avatar wearing Ethereal armor, but foes in dangerous PVP areas might easily assume that such an avatar is unprotected.

Twenty-five sets of the soon-to-be legendary Ethereal armor will be available in the Entropia Universe Webshop for $5000, starting on Friday, December 18 2015 13:00 UTC.
In addition, a single set of Unique Ethereal Armor will be made available on the same date and time in the Entropia Universe auction, with a starting bid of 50000 PED. The Unique version offers even more spectacular protection and durability than the normal Ethereal armor, as detailed in the list below.

Ethereal Armor:
  • Durability: 5500
  • Penetration: 34
  • Impact: 30
  • Burn: 42
  • Cut: 30
  • Stab: 24
  • Cold: 7
  • Shrapnel: 15
  • Acid: 7
  • Electric: 7
  • TOTAL: 196

UNIQUE Ethereal Armor:
  • Durability: 6000
  • Penetration: 44
  • Impact: 33
  • Burn: 46
  • Cut: 32
  • Stab: 26
  • Cold: 8
  • Shrapnel: 19
  • Acid: 9
  • Electric: 11
  • TOTAL: 228

[h=4]Payment Options[/h]The Entropia Universe Webshop accepts credit and debit cards and PayPal. For purchases of the Ethereal Armor you can also pay via Bank Transfer. For Bank transfers please allow a few days for manual handling before the Ethereal Armor is delivered to your Avatar’s inventory.

and lol that is has dawned on MA that this may happen - - - If your card limit is lower than required for a desired webshop purchase, please contact Entropia Universe Support.

Edit: I guess via the shop we have no way of knowing directly how many have sold - and as it's pretty invisible we might not 'see it' in game either. A perfect King's New Clothes MA (now how old is THAT idea).....

This year's equus I suppose.

We knew something but they clearly under did the stats. How is this much different or better than cheaper already existing armor?
 
I guess someone at HQ recently discovered how to increase a companys cashflow. The big question is, for how long is this sustainable...

Exactly this. A few big ticket items have been sold before (Amethera, CP, CND/FOMA, Monria, Planets, Equus, Deeds, etc) and I wonder how far can they push the envelope for big ticket $$ items before the envelope falls off the table and onto the ground. I believe most are teetering on the edge with this stuff and would like to see more changes for sustainability in game without having to reach for their credit card.

84 close and 91 firearms and 21 exotic protection

for firearms sentinel is closest.

for close protection its dune rider.

for total protection it's close to imp angel or chronicle.


it's edge should be pvp.. for that amount of ped I would rather have a set of eon tbh.
eon has 78 close protection and far more firearms protection.
Once people know that you have a set of this invisible armor, then they know don't they. Edge gone. Leaves an overpriced armor set, but you look cool in your nice coat.

Cool MMO game nothing to loot if you want to Craft buy from MA if you want to hunt buy from MA if want a armor buy from MA and so on......Hallo.

Would have rather seen, if anything, a combo of items you get from strongboxes that could be combined with things you get from hunting, crafting, or mining.

C'mon MA, you have to put stuff in loot as well or there's no reason to have all this cool equipment.

Yea, I thought they were making good steps adding items to loot to upgrade existing armors. That could go very far. But, this equus end of year stuff is. . Well... the armor definitely falls short of its stats. The premium is that it appears you are hunting naked.. but is that worth $3000 premium?
 
Why so much hate? Yes MA is doing annual sales and this year it's an armor set. Why not?

The armor has nice overall protection and so the 5k pricetag is fine when compared to other sets.

Angel is 2k$ , POE is 3.5$k, Shadow is 4k$, EON similar, so this Ethereal one at 5k$? Why not? So don't shout it's expensive :)

I am rather more sad we don't have MM rules yet...

Soon nothing we have will render. The game will look like 1982. Why spend money of graphics team? Sell us a triangle and we can shoot meteors.

Btw...I think that MA end of the year sales should be restricted to things that shouldn't be in the damn lootpool!
 
This game is fantastic
In 2015 all the uber items looted went to the same player
Now unstead of adding more items to actually LOOT from hunting, they sell it in webshop!

Tell me Mindark, why should i continue hunting and using uber stuff if there is nothing to actually loot??? since everything will be in webshop, i should just go to casino or craft explosives dont i?

Interesting, 26 sets of invisible armor.

As with last years Equus, if you dont want one, dont bid on them.

Will they sell as fast as the Equus? (They did all sell out eventually)

One for those with very nice outfits who dont want to hide it under armor all the time, there could well be 26 such individuals in Entropia.
