Archon and Melee Amps

So i was away fro few years and now that i started playing again , was thinking to build up some strength and HP , since at level 58 Laser Pistoleer , the skilling is pretty slow for the mobs i usualy hunt.

I tried entropedia and it says that Archon Sword ( that i consider buying ) cannot be used with Melee Amps . :scratch2:

Is that true? Any owner could plz confirm this?

afaik, no NI Greece item can be amped

I can confirm, and in the case of Archon..the eco boost would be to big so its likely a balancing thing.
 
With an eco of 2.989 without amp its still a good choice =)

Be a man and skill maces :) Mace MKIII and higher you can amp any melee amp you'd like. Mace mkII amps up to VIII amp and mace mkI amps up to VI amp.

PS: I too am level 57 pistol and switched to melee.. and I am very very happy with my decision.
 
If you want to use amps i can suggest the arkadian blades. Afaik they all can take amps. The drawback is the low TT so i suggest to have a portable rep terminal on you or carry more blades.
The cyrene blades are also quite good and cheap to get.

I am searching for some blade around 30ish dps, so when i put a melee amp get that 40+dps for average 100-200 hp mobs.

Archon has a great eco and wouldn't like to drop under 2.93. Any suggestions in specific ?

I checked most against MTAIV, but depending on base damage buying MTAVI instead makes more sense

My personal favorite at the moment is the Ozpyn Shortblade. It was cheap can take amps up to MTA VI, has decent eco and dps i fit the lvl reqs and has a decent TT for decent sized runs.

Very useful thoughts there, i am thinking to keep Archon till it gets to T3 and cehck again . For now mobs with 200-400 HP are going down nicely , but with MAVI droping in price i start feeling like going for a bigger DPS, even if is SB
