@ Connection Speeds in table are "guesstimates" derived from the information posted in this thread. Some have given their "plan's speed" (as stated by their ISP) while others have posted actual speeds obtained from speed tests. Some might have given their speed in Megabits per second while some might have meant Megabytes per second. But for the purpose of this table, Mbps = Megabits per second. :ahh:

* "Valuation" is just a judging ratio. (Higher Ratio = Expensive, Lower Ratio = Less Expensive)

Just curious, but I'm interested in knowing what's the internet connection that Entropia Universe players are using and paying for.

So humor me please?

Please kindly follow the format and input of Country, Connection Speed & Cost.

(Cause I'm curious about the pricings and speed offered in the various countries...and gauge how much I'm being "fleeced" by my own country's monopolized ISP.

To start the ball rolling...

Mine:
Country - Malaysia
Connection Speed - 1 Mbps (Megabits per second)
Cost - ~MYR 122 per month (The actual amt that I need to pay per month or risk getting disconnected.)

Country - USA
Connection Type - Cable
Connection Speed - 60 Mbps
Cost - ~44 USD/month*

*Introductory rate, and bundled with cable TV. When my introductory rate ends however I might cancel my TV so my rate won't actually increase.

One of the worst in europe in term of Mbps/€

Country: Slovakia
Connection: 12 Mbps internet + 12 Mbps TV (ADSL)
Price: 30€/month
No restrictions though - no DL/UP limit, can share it on multiple devices and download pretty much anything without being harassed or annoyed with commercials.

But if I lived few blocks away, I could get 100 Mbps fiber for almost half the price - just my luck :)

UK 100mps cable = £15/month

But that's as part of package with tv and phone. If u get just broadband then it's £30/month but if u get phone & broadband but no tv it's £8/month?

1 Gbit/s ~ $25 per semester :D
Love being a tech university student :)

So is it safe to put it as 100 Mbps at £30/month?

ref. korea

1 GIGA(1Gbps) : around 40$ worth / 1 month

It's actually cheaper to get phone&broadband and not use the phone than it is to get broadband by itself  So that would be £26/month

I see.

Over here, my ISP told me that its better* to use another phone line for the broadband...and so I ended up having two phone lines in my house plus the broadband (one for calls, the other for broadband).

(* Can't remember whether its due to "noise that you will receive when having calls come through when your connected online" or was it "that calls will totally not come in when your online"...that I had to get the second line.)

Ultimately, the entire sum bumps up to having to pay ~MYR 122 (per month) for the entire rig...so that's what I went by.

Everything here...so long as its called an "add-on" bumps up the costs...never down though.
