Trying to better understand the profile of the average active EU player, so here's one more thread.
This thread starts from the following premise:
- you are treating EU as an entertainment option
- you are here to have fun and relax after a hard day at work
- you don't expect to also make profit from EU
- you don't mind paying some money for your entertainment
So pretty much the same mentality of someone playing a non-RCE game or going to a bar or buying a cinema ticket - you pay some money for your entertainment and you don't expect to get them back.
If you think different, the poll has a mention for that too.
The question is "How much money are you willing to spend (lose) per hour in EU?".
How to calculate that:
- think how much money you're willing to spend per month
- think how much money you want to have left at the end of the month (if any)
- make the difference between the two; that's the amount you are willing to spend
- think how many hours you play on average per month
- divide money you're willing to spend to average hours per month
And here's a practical example how to calculate it:
- let's say I'm willing to deposit $20 every month
- I want to still have half of it left at the end of the month (for gear upgrade or so)
- that means I'm willing to spend $20 - $10 = $10
- now let's say I play about four hours per day during weekends and maybe one hour per day during week days; that's about 13 hours per week (1 * 5 + 4 * 2), so about 52 hours per month (13 * 4)
- that means that I'm willing to spend (lose) about $10 / 52 = $0.1923, so a bit less than 20 cents per hour
Important:
- please note that I used spending as in loosing, not as in cycling
- please note that past investments or anything like that are not included; only what you're willing to actually spend/pay per month
- please note that due to the random nature of looting, we talk about an average, not a guarantee; there might still be times when you could lose more, as well as times when you could lose less or even win; we can only cover the averages here
If you want to also comment (explain better) on top of voting, feel free to do so, but PLEASE DO NOT COMMENT/CRITICIZE other people's options (if you want to do that, please open a new thread, don't derail this one). As far as it concerns me at least, I won't judge or criticize and I don't consider there are any correct or wrong answers... just trying to see how majority of players see and treat the game.
