Is there any solution for this? I'm shooting/swinging my wep and it constantly locks up and says "Failed" as you can see in my signature below.

Is this a problem with my ISP? Or is it a server-side issue?

Anyone found a way to eliminate or at least reduce this problem?

Im on an ADSL connection and used to have this problem a lot. I hade my ISP lower my connection profil from 24/4 to something like 14/3 to gain a stable connection. I still get FAILED messages sometimes but its playable now.

It's rare (for me) to see a series like your sig these days.

When they brought in Failed status it wasn't uncommon. You can probably still find the massive complaint threads around here...

I think it represents any series of events that cause bad communications, client, server, or network side. If the client and server don't both confirm that a shot was made and result recorded, you end up seeing a fail. We were assured that no ammo is spent but it's awfully frustrating.

If the trouble's not in your system (network side) there's nothing to do but hope it's transient. If you have anytihng going that spikes your processor locally, or if you have high network traffic in your LAN you might be able to improve it but spotting the culprit is the problem.

Majority of the time it's your connection. On my home line (40mbit) I never see it; on my parents line (8mbit) I see it a fair bit. On public wifi or hotel wifi... hahaha all the time.

Thanks for the responses. My screenshot was a particularly bad situation, that rarely ever happens anymore.

It's definitely playable for me as well, was just wondering if there were some settings I can tweak to improve the stability even more. But I guess not!

Never? I think my connection is 72mbps (that's good right?). Like I said it really doesn't happen too frequently but I'm surprised at your claim that you've never had it happen at all! Makes me think there is some other factor we're not considering.

Been having it also last 2 days i played..
Solution : logoff & do other stuff

i get a failed every time just before a mob respawn around me, in the 70m range

There may be another factor involved, might be the physical distance from the server. I have a 40 Mbit connection and I honestly can't remember when was the last time I saw one of those.

Also, there was something in the settings that you can configure that will greatly affect this. Unfortunately, I can't remember the exact setting, as I read about it in an unrelated thread recently, but I do know that it has something to do with the delay of the weapon reload. In some cases, messing with it can actually speed up your reload time, less time spent waiting when the bar is filed, it boils down to a fragment of a second but they do pile up over time, while in other cases it can cause a lot of those "Failed" messages. Probably because it affects client side and creates miscommunication between the client and the server. You might wanna try to look into this particular setting as well.

I am sorry I couldn't be more helpful but do keep in mind that in most cases, it simply boils down to your internet speed and it's stability.

Issue often disappears shortly after the film download has finished. ;)

Number of failed messages correlates to the number of porn movies being downloaded on your or mindark's network.

Lately it has been happening to me a lot more than normal.

I found this game working remarkably well on pretty bad internet connections, but of course there can be any number of reasons for inducing delays it cannot recover from within due time. Only a fraction of these reasons is under the developers' control.

What bothers me a bit is that mob attacks and regeneration do not seem to depend on network response and continue unabated during the time you can't deliver your attacks. If this happens too often, it causes a real loss.

To optimize data packet send and receive size, go into options in client loader and select the connection speed that is closest to what you actually have.

Does that actually make a difference? I never knew. Since I moved I've been getting a lot of these failed messages, so im going to try this when I get home. Thanks

I have a 150MB fiber connection to Internet. But some times it also hapen here. If i used WiFi i got this all the time.

Yes, it does. For me it is a matter of going from disconnects, lagg, failed to working perfectly.

i have this issue constantly aswell with 95/95 connection
