Why would I care about reviews from newbs who never made it further than Camp Phoenix? :)

Let me go over my time here.. I played for 2 years with no money put in, and tons of hunting. I had a great time with all the awesome people in this community, I took 2nd place in a movie contest which resulted in MA buying me a new computer. :cool: Then I deposited $180 (not much) and still have yet to lose any of it for quite a few months now. Not to mention my time here has been priceless.

If I never played this game I would have never had a new found hope for the future of MMORPGs(It's a Love/Hate relationship with MA), I would have never met some great new friends (whom I have met in real life), and I would have never had that extra bit of spending money.

When I joined I didn't expect a free game, or even a cheap/easy form of entertainment. The problem is others join here looking to either make money or play as much as they want off the $10 a month they would have spent playing another clone mmorpg with better graphics. I joined looking for a challenge, and I found it.

We lose the people who give such mature reviews as "geez this game s*** badly" and that is good! This game weeds out the weak. :cool:

Go ahead and read the reviews.. but don't let some kids experience with the game put you off on meeting cool new people and possibly reviving your hope in online gaming and the community behind it.

I don't care if its a gamble or not.. i never made any money off of any of the MMO's ive played, why should this one be any different. All i do know is that I love this game.. ive had an account for a while, but ive been playing a lot recently and I am very much a n00b.

I started off with a deposit of 40$.. which is what i probably would have spent at a store anyway.. every once in a while i make another small deposit, nothing more than my 3 accounts on previous MMO's had cost. So to hell with what some reviewer thinks.. if i listen to people like that there are so many new things i wouldn't have tired.

My advice, download the game and try it for a while. there is no need to make a deposit, just run around, get used to the interface, talk to the people.. if you don't like it then.. no harm done.. but don't miss out on something great just cause some 14 year old has the attention span of a grapefruit.
 
I think many of those messages that were posted here ended up in the recycle bin. You'll always hear the less satisfied ppl shout much more. Meaning more complaints then recommendations.

a pretty average complainer would look like this in EU scenario:
1. Installs Entropia
2. Sweats for hours and hours, days and days
3. Buys a plasma
4. Shoot all hard work into mobs within an hour
5. Starts complaining and quits

I wasn't trying to blast Mindark.. But I do believe in the opinion of others..

EU has enough 'yes-people' that think its the second coming already..and will tell you so..
Make up your own mind...but beware of what others say.

the highest ranked game got an 8.3 (1.1 better) and the game was EVE (not what i wanted in a MMO) and still yet it looks as though EU is in the top 50 of their ranked games which sayes alot considering how many MMO's there really are in the world today.

im not trying to fanboy EU but respect what it has been given here.

I agree with Eron, if you look at the long list of MMORPGs, EU is actually quite good.

There will always be people that do not like EU, just as there are people who don't like EVE or WOW. I happen to really like EU,and I have tried 2 others that were ranked higher (not EVE or WOW) and came back to EU because it suits be much better. It may have its flaws, but none of the MMORPGs are perfect, they all have their little problems.

The rating are based on user reviews, that means that if we would all give EU a perfect review, it would advance up the list. Also notice that there are many games rated and reviewed that are still in development. I doubt that these ratings give an objective and acurate picture of those games.

It is interesting to read the reviews on EU, almost all of them were complaining about the cost of playing. It is something that i see over and over again, people put too much money into EU, sometimes much more than they can afford, and then complain that they are losing money. This is in part the fault of MA who cleverly markets EU as a place where you can possibly make money, and partly due to people who don't understand that MA does'nt not say "you will make money".

I have been playing since November and I usually spend no more than 20-30 Dollars per month on EU. It is possible to play for free or with only a small deposit every month. It is all about how you want to play and how disciplined you manage your wallet.

Sure, I would like some items to be less expensive, and we would all like to hit a massive ATH to finance our new car. At the end of the day it is all about how much money you are willing to pay for some entertainment, and not about making money. I have a job to make money, the rest is just for fun.

It is for everyone to decide for themselves.

I found this comment among the reviews, and I just HAD to show it here:

Great Game! The real money aspect is very exciting and it does not feel like in other online games that you waste your time playing, as your items can be sold for real $$$! The game is both stable, lagfree, and customer support is fast to reply with valid resonses (even if they sometime aren't overly polite, but that doesn't really matter to me). Some people claim you only can get ahead in PE by being rich IRL, but I don't agree to that sentiment, as high level items can be found and sold even if you haven't deposited a single dime. People who whining just doesn't understand the gran vision PE is. I recommend it as it is free, doesn't have a subscription fee and it feels like the next generation of MMOG's. Two thumbs up!

Don't get me wrong, I love the game, but the bold-printed part is just silly (but funny as hell!).

My sentiments exactly!

The only thing that ever forces anyone to deposit more than they can afford to lose is their own lack of self-control/will power or self delusions of their unique ability to profit.

Have you ever considered that the problem may lie within yourself and your approach towards PE/EU? :dunce:

I know of 3 people who would state differently, and I don't of any other Jack Free around unless you have someone running around with your Avatar name..but this is not the place for this

MindArk is a cmpany...
Hello-ho?? A cmopnay... this means they want to make money.

So it's OBVIOUS that you will not EARN money but SPEND money when depositing. Just think before you do something and you don't need to complain.

99,5% of the people here play this because the community in the game is a LOT better than in any other game I ever played. If you want to make money, go get a real job. EU is something you call MMORPG... G stands for GAME :D.
