Unit 6 stood to attention in the hot sun, sweat running into their eyes.

They’d been called out at noon, in the searing heat of the desert.

Sergeant Dalton was inspecting the line, staring them down. Mercilessly scrutinising equipment, bearing and adherence to dress code. She’d shouted at them with such force that the faces of her soldiers were covered in spit.

A 'special guest' was coming. That’s all she’d told them.

But I’ll be damned if my unit embarasses me in front of him!

Suddenly a Sleipnir roared over the dunes and onto the plain, its thrusters blasting up clouds of sand as it landed. A few decorated CDF bodyguards jumped out in quick succession. An impressive escort.

Right on cue, out stepped Major Ushakov. The grizzled old warrior looked sternly about himself. As always, Dalton thought he seemed quite self-important.

The man was ‘a higher up’, and he knew it.

Ushakov stamped his way to where the unit stood to attention.

“Welcome to Unit 6, sir!” said Dalton.

The unit smartly saluted the major. Dalton felt a quick stab of pride. Good soldiers, all of them. Even though they’ve been through all kinds of—

“It’s been a long journey Dalton, let’s get this over with!” snapped Ushakov.

“Right you are, sir. Please follow me!”

You rude bastard…

Dalton led him to her small office at the back of the compound. She noticed how Ushakov stared at the modest furnishings in distaste. Probably not used to front-line conditions anymore. Gone soft!

“Out with it then, Dalton! Why did you call me out here? I’m a busy man!”

Dalton bit back a terse reply. This grumpy bear of a man was beginning to irritate her!

“We’re having serious problems with robot incursions at Forts Pandora and Medusa. They’re encamped at coords [68254, 84011] and [84289, 86129] close to the fort perimeters.

The harder we press them, the harder they attack the base! We need more troops deployed in this area. We’re at breaking point!

And when they send in Shock Units, it seems to get worse...”

Dalton glanced warily at Ushakov. He just sat there, scratching his stubble. Mulling it over.
After what seemed like a full minute he finally spoke.

“Alright Dalton. You’ve convinced me. I’ll send a message out to the colonists. Hopefully they’ll fill the ranks.”

But what happened to the story about the warchief?

Cool, is this a shared loot spawn or? Will check it out when I get home.

There has been a Shock Warlock F2-TF (lvl 107) which sits across the water W of Medusa, and killing it starts the Medusa wave.

It's been there since the Tuesday update - if it's mode is on the ranged-ball attack, you can stand at distance and plink it without getting attacked.

Do waves now give usefull buffs? Or same old ones?

I'm reaching my breaking point on waiting for citizen plot content, NOT THIS KIND OF PLOT CONTENT... NOT STORY PLOT...

Yup, there was a level 148 warlock at Pandora we took down last night that kicked off the wave, there were 6 of us but really needed more to make the event work. Was good fun though even though the repair bill wasn't.

The big warlock end boss (I think its Pandora) gives +90hp for 2 hours buff. :cool:

Bit of info for you all:

Medusa = (F2-TF) robots
Pandora = (I3-TF) robots

Waves:

- 3 x Defend Shield Generator - 4(?)x - Droka, Trooper, Warrior, Leigonnaire. Harder waves will spawn a Big Bulk variant.

- Kill Gate Defenders - 4x huge HP mobs, plus troopers.

- Kill Warlock - F2-TF = +50 HP (at 100% contribution); I3-TF = +90 HP (at 100% contribution) for 2hrs.

Looks like the solo Warlocks have been removed now, and where they spawned replaced with Trooper gen5 (Medusa) or Legionnaire gen1 (Pandora)...

This guy just spawned north of Pandora while I was killing some Legionnaries

Nice one, so it is on kills :). When you kill the warlock, the wave starts.

Reason fo noob to participate?

Dear MA provide,plc,reason for noob to participate ... as due low DPS (~43 DPS) in those events I am never getting any items = I am PED /loot source for Higher DPS, getting an Average loot for me 30-60% TT

Consider to change items to Tokens/shards (tradable) ... and introduce Token trader ... so Noobs like me got some incentive to participate

So that is not only high DPS profit (break even) events

The commander of a local unit invites a senior officer to his location - only to tell him there are enemy units at these coordinates and he needs backup? Really?
They don't even go out to the location, just sit in some room and talk. Military is all about efficiency. Info like this would be forwarded over the phone or radio link. If there's no intent to inspect the situation on the location nobody will travel anywhere.

Extremely unrealistic. The writer has never been anywhere near any military and has watched only the worst most unrealistic war movies.

if you do 5% of the damage you should get 5% of the loot, unless item drops, but even as a low dps'er you can get the item drop and with 5% of the damage you could get 90% of the loot

You have a chance to loot the items:

If you do 1% damage, you have a 1% chance to loot any items.

Trust me, it's more annoying/costly as a high-DPS shooter to finally hit the big item loot and see it go to a player who did 20 damage on a 10k mob ;)

{DELETED QUOTE}

I've made about 17.5k so far at Medusa... So I can play the events and have a nice 5* holiday! :girl:

You had only bad luck, I got several Items on Hydra/Big Bulks/ etc when turning over around 25 K Ped on those with my little Herman ARK-34+ dante back then and I broke even on them

I Don't partake often at medusa/pandora but i usually break even, even got 1.4k share of a 8.9k HoF last night. i'm a mid range DPS'er (60-65dps)

i think medusa/pandora is better than most others but simply the teams are way smaller, when you have 6-10 killing robots compared to 70-80 killing kongs, your share will be greater

These new waves seem particularly fun and rewarding. You can hunt anything and get the odd 50% return.

CDF budget seems to be seriously cut if the Major have to visit to the field in person for this simple conversation instead of just calling.
