Question: Is Longtooth loot borked??

Ok, done quite a few Longtooth, and for the most part lost a lot of peds.

Started off on Alpha to Stalkers, like I usualy do, and no matter how hard I try, I cannot loot one from 16-49 ped.

The loot is either Nova (from Old Alpha's) to 15 ped. Stalkers loot from 2 to 15/16 ped, or a global if i'm lucky. Why is the loot capped like this?
I cannot, or neither have I seen streamers get 16-49 peds in loot. I feel it's this hole in the loot that is currently making them so extremely dire to hunt.

If anyone has a screenie of a loot with that value in, please post a screenshot/highlight a stream for me.
 
Mob loot has always been like that, its called 'multipliers'. You have a range for base loot, then you get a multiplier (usually 1) like 1x, 3x, 5x, 100x, 500x etc. Every mob has a range of loot you cannot get, it is not even distribution.
 
Pretty sure last year, and the previous years, I was getting a full range of loot.

Last Year in the same amount of LT my wife and I had over 150 elm weapons, this year we have a total of 8! None worth more then 6 peds mark up. We never wave hunted either.

We are all but finished with the newest stage added. 36K points each with 8 elm weapons total.

Tell ppl to stop hoarding elm guns in storage and decay them so they return back to the loot pool. MA fucked up last year when they allowed so many of them to drop.

They probably instituted a loot cap for them (in TT)... so all of those elm guns in storages everywhere are why you're not getting as many now.

and that's something we should all be thankful for because if it was raining elms again all other L weapons for the next 10 months would be TT food...
 
We need MA to eliminate elm weapons from the game.
 
if you think you are losing too much from doing a few mobs you dont have enough peds for that mob size and the mob is far too big and risky for you. perhaps try some fouls or small kerbs.
 
I did 30k stage v hunting young to old. Finished at near 98% tt

What was your setup?

Dunno if those results are realistic for everyone
 
Last year I made a few kills without mission and I got double global in ....dunno not more than 10 LT's. This year I'd done stage I and stage II iron mission (total 300 kills) plus some after the end of II. Somewhere in the middle to the end I was very dissapointed with the results not only LT's but on what I hunted during this time (I made a thread on that for my last 77 kills!!!).
For LT's I can say, at the end was one of the best hunt experience I had on Caly last month or so. It goes quiet well at the very end of what I planned to kill, weird like someone knew and preserved the good at the end.

I got the HOF on my 4th day of hunting after £100 deposit (although I'm sure I was owed from a previous personal cycle).

This was my budget for migration, I won't exceed it (got kids to feed...seriously).

The loot swings got wider and wider to eventually I bottomed out to around 500 peds left on my card, then I stopped hunting and went back to training pets pacing up and down Itacha. Bought a couple of things for few 100 ped, so I had something remaining for that deposit (sits with my mind better doing that).

I looted a few ELM weapons too. I'm loathed to sell the BLP ones as they're back-up weapons for when I really skint. The markup is too small to justify sale. I was paying in the 1000's% for the LC-240 1 ped versions.

Btw....I ran normal LC-240 (L) for most of my hunting, not the 1 ped versions. I don't trust those 1 ped guns for returns. I switched to the 1 ped versions, when my ped card forced me into that position, near the end.

Finished the Stage V LT's, and did quite a chunk of the Bronze. I'm out now, until I can afford to hunt in August sometime.

The LT's Dominants finally cleaned me, they refused to pay out at Ithaca (and I couldn't find the guardians after MA moved them...which was a shame).

I did the stage V at Mino heading west, on the small LT's.

Maybe there is something in the loot view, that bigger the mob - bigger the cycle.

Hey Suzy, if it makes you feel better, you are not the only one. For me Longtooth looted nice the first four days, then the loot went low. This year I tried to solo Eomon for the first time, same story as with Longtooth. Last year I had two weeks of good Longtooth loots. But this year it is another story even though I prepared, not the first migration this happened. :laugh:

After a few bad hunts on Longtooth, I went back to my last rextelum mission. Got just over 2.5k kill points to go then I finished this one. ;)

So this year it seems migration creatures are not for me, so I will try again next year.

Maybe the LT's have their own loot pools. I've heard a few horror stories on the big LT's.

I don't believe the mob "size" x multiplier, I'm more inclined to believe in the 'damage build then release multiplier'. In other words if the game wants to pay you 10K loot it will, regardless if you hunt an Atrox mature or LT Stalker.

The other problem is sales to auction. There's always been this fear that dumping to TT is bad news. Problem is even if you burn up all the shrapnel, you're still stuck with tons of kidney oil. I had loads listed for days with just 50 pec markup....and it didn't sell.

Maybe MA could introduce some crafting BP's that are active during migration to burn up all this kidney oil. I'm sure the explo crafters would love that.

I don't care about the dynamics of the game anymore, I've been around too long. I pay, I want loot....end of. However MA wrap it up is their rules not mine, so they either choose to entertain or don't.

I had an ok run I guess for my peds, would've been nice to run for 2 more weeks.

Lets hope you pop something soon, maybe go and shoot some little LT's see what happens.

LT has always been long cycle/high risk mob. Even the small maturities have relatively long cycle (in other words: highly volatile loot). In my experience this year they are slightly more stable than previous years but it could be just a coincidence.

Have to hunt them heavily through the whole Migration - then you have a much better chance to even out in the end. Even then there's no guarantees, some end up with good profit - means there's others who'll have heavy losses...

All that cycling huge amounts gives you is that you'll end up closer to the magical 85%-95% average return*. If you only hunt few hundred mobs there's a very good chance you'll end up with a very low (or very high, if u lucky) return %.



(* What exactly this "magical average" is for you... who knows. It seems it depends on your skills, gear and hunting style - weapon dpp, defensive cost, average overkill, stuff like that).
 
a sample size of 300 is basically nothing... ive had streak of 1000 mobs with exactly one (1!) multiplier of 3x. thats it. fucking merfolken spearman :D
 
For me the first few days of Migration usually gives good loot, then it drops and you get into grind mode when you can take down a thousand with no major returns, this year it seems to be more stable for me. Like Rick I depo'd £100 and had about £50 already on my card. That is around 2000 ped in total - my card is at 1600 ped atm after 4 weeks which is not bad - using mainly dehera immolation and melee trauma VI for hunting in pixie and 5A on the youngs

Ref the ELM weapons the drops are very low this year and I agree with the previous post that too many ppl are hoarding these (me included). I am considering just AH them at half the normal MU as most of these I have hoarded i never use. Maybe we should all get rid of these to sort out the balancing ?

I looted some nice none ELM weapons this year - but they drop in waves which are very concentrated. I am on holiday for 2 weeks and have not brought my gaming laptop with me so I will be out of game until 8th September when I plan to grind some more youngs until migration ends.

Limited regular LC150s with reload speed pills. Shooting youngs quickly, rarely needed to heal, seemed to provide stable returns.
 
98% still means that when hunting mobs like lt or kerbs or anything like that that give an average mu of 1% extra u are on 99% return. that means if you hunt for 1 million peds you will safely lose 10.000 peds... not the bext strategy hunting no mu mobs... and dont tell me "but you get skills" bla.. skills are worthless...

You can believe it if you want, but you would be incorrect.
