Cry engine 5

Look at that optimization. We need an upgrade asap.

You want them to spend the next 2,3 years breaking stuff and trying to fix it?

LOL

I assume in a few years time they will eventually have to migrate to another engine again. Maybe they can consider lumberyard if that is still going strong at that time. Being based on Cry engine and free to use, that may be worth considering.

lol, half of the newcomers struggle at low settings. We need a downgrade to gamebryo :)

There are many, many things to take care of which are more important.

Star Citizen isnt even released , and question is, will it?

The engine alone can't making bad looking models better.
It is also a question about texture size and shaders to use. EU = MMO game needs to have as small as possible texture sizes, to get a average playable FPS. The showcases of the engines, most only show small levels with super large textures. But in a large world like EU is, it would kill the performance. Itz not the same as multiplayer game like Armored Warfare, what allow a bit larger and more complex shaders.

It would also need to redesign materials, and even the textures, and also to use a bit more polygons at models, for increasing the look of EU, with the result, that then most ppl cry about low FPS. Agree, that they could make some models a bit better, but i think they balanced all this not too bad, so we all have a good frame per second feeling.

Wow, everything from spaceship entry through the atmosphere, to landing planetside, to detailed flight controls...

Awesome, but if entry into space remains the nuisance it is so that most people avoid it as much as they can, what's the point.
