How is DPS calculated?

I'm trying to figure out how DPS is calculated on Entropedia. Nothing I can do will get my calculations to line up with what's shown, for any weapon.

Examples:

A3 Justifier MK.I - Dmg: 36 (effective 27), Attacks/min: 40

EP gives a Dmg/sec of 16.7, but 27*40/60 = 18

Another way to look at it

40 attacks/min means 1 attack takes 1.5s

27 dmg /1.5s = 18dps, so where is 16.7 coming from?


Every weapon I've tried is off by a small amount. I used the formula provided on the site itself for calculating effective damage.

Did you count 10% of misses?

IIRC entropedia uses slightly different formulas in weapons chart and compare weapons tool.
