So a while ago (maybe a few years) we were gonna get transport missions. Person A could buy somethign at an auction on another planet, and then the parcel would be listed for transport. Person B could accept the mission to transport soemthing, and when it succeeded get something, while it saved A some time to pick it up.

As I am to understand, interplanetary transport is now done by TP for a fee.

Has the transport idea been scrapped entirely? It sounded like a really good idea, would be a shame if it was gone forever...

Developer Notes #10 - Galactic Transport
In the upcoming Entropia Universe Version Update 15.1 (currently scheduled for early December), planet-specific auction sections will be removed. This change will result in a single unified auction, something that many participants have requested and something that MindArk believes will result in a more efficient and dynamic interplanetary economy.
After VU 15.1, buyers will have three options when winning an auction that was listed from a planet that differs from that of the buyer:
Pickup at Origin - Items won from auction will be placed into the buyer’s inventory on the planet of origin (the planet where the auction was created). Buyer must then travel to the planet of origin to retrieve the items from storage.
Normal Delivery - Items won from auction will be transported to the buyer’s storage at the buyer’s current location after a specified period of time (TBD, approximately 1-4 hours). This option will incur a small transport fee, based on the weight of the items to be transported.
Instant Delivery - Items won from auction will be transported immediately to the buyer’s storage at the buyer’s current location. This option will incur the same transport fee as Normal Delivery, along with an extra convenience fee.
The transport fees collected for the Normal and Instant Delivery options will be held in a special transport fee pool. In a subsequent Version Update, transport missions will be made available that can be claimed by spaceship pilots via a queue system that incorporates the available transport fee pool, pilot skills, time limitations, and ship cargo capacities.
Those missions will take the form of cargo boxes which must be delivered to a destination in return for a PED reward funded by the transport fee pool. Cargo boxes are at risk of being looted by other participants in cases where the transporting ship is defeated in space combat; the looted cargo boxes can then be delivered to the assigned destination by the looter to claim the original transport mission reward. Note that the cargo boxes will correspond to the value of the transport mission reward rather than the actual items traded via auction sales. In this way piracy of cargo boxes will not negatively impact interplanetary trade.
It will still be possible to transport goods and resources through space in the current manner, though changes will be made in upcoming Version Updates to address currently existing issues and loopholes that allow for risk-free transport of goods and materials through space.
MindArk believes that this new Galactic Transport system will result in increased activity and efficiency in the interplanetary market for goods and materials, along with more accurate and informative market history data that will benefit participants on all planets. It will also make for a much more exciting and engaging gameplay experience in space and pave the way for further development of space systems including combat, hunting, transport and resource gathering.

I like the idea of an interplanetary auction where the item I won is placed in my current inventory where I am with no additional fees.

Otherwise, I would like to be able to go to the free TP and take a tp hop over to the planet of item auction origin and pick up my item and take my free tp hop back to the planet I want to play on. Which would be a total waste of time but not as stupid as having to take a space ship somewhere.

Anything else mentioned about space and space ships and transporting cargo and piracy is just more bad ideas.

A long time ago, MA taught us that the humans discovered how to create and use free TPs to jump around the planet and the universe. Why MA and anyone else wants to go technically backwards in capability and cost and force us to waste our time and money using spaceships to do what we can already do with TPs is inconceivable.

Space Ships are stupid when we already have free TP capability to get around. Don't be stupid MA.

I remember this one, but isn't that from...like...2015?

Maybe TP's don't work very well in a vacuum, which is why it can only be used for short distances in space, usually near planets.

I'd also like ammunition to be free, and probes, and nanocubes, and nutrio bars. Oh, and strongboxes.

We can assume that the PED collected from transportation of goods between planets must be pretty substantial by now. MindArk promised the space transport missions this year and the big update. They have 31 days.

Can auction transport fees be converted into peds? Apples to oranges.

Same thing that happens to everything else MA talks about doing, goes up someone's @ss and never returns.
Remember compets? AN APP that is still in beta?

That being said, it is good you brought it up though. It is a shame nothing has happened - with the claim behind it of money collected from fees goes to this project. Just like CLDs was going to go to advertising and bring new players... :duh:

Great Idea!

Hello!

ComPet has officially left the Beta stage and is now in production!

I don't remember the details because I had long since sold my hangers before the vu, but after the vu, and before "space" iirc, they took fees when they had interplanetary TPs, and then somehow gave hanger owners privateers, or something like that, I'm sure someone can refresh our memory of the details if anyone cares, point being, I think they eventually did follow through with some-thing.

Space asteroid with pvp4 materials no Teleport down...you must transport goods...no auctioneer..

2014 I think.

It was 2014 when they released the equus. The transport system was there so that people would buy the equus. Such promise shouldn't have taken 2 years. They put in the money taking part but not the main part for players to take it....

Nothing new thought, they sold motherships 5 years ago with big promises and still havent delivered

Add your vote in the thread below if you wish to remind them ;)

It's mindark... do empty promises from them even surprise us these days?

They will promise you the world to get your peds. :censored:

The part I really don't understand is how they succeed.

They do this so people will be sooooooo happy with them when they get thrown a bone.

Just wait until MA tosses out the next crumb how many people will slobber on their knob.
