For the Ubers out there: Do you think that loot pools are region based? Or maturity based?

It's totally random.

...except when its not.

Listen - I posted this specifically to ubers because the only way to figure out a pattern is by seeing it. Not making theories. Only the most experienced in hunting can develop a well thought educated guess on how loot pools work. I enjoy the opinion, but I didn't come here asking for vague answers or tin hat theories. I'm trying to use deductive reasoning to understand more and more on the loot system.

YOU DO NOT KNOW THE FORMULA TO HOW LOOT WORKS. Plain and simple. But, we can create information on certain patterns that the formula creates. And these patterns are only seen from experience.

Damn, sorry. Never mind. Reading comprehension fail. Please disregard. I am not an Uber. I am just a Noober. Please carry on with your research.

"well you can't deposit 500 dollars a month so you opinion doesn't count"... isn't exactly the way to be open and embracing of new blood in the game... and then when we see how few new folks there are or that quit after a week everyone starts scratching their head and going "why aren't there more people here...???"

Saying hunting requires someone 500 dollars a month proves you don't know anything about hunting and this actually makes new players stay away from ...hunting :) it hurts the game giving false info and you only feed the conspiracy theory fanbase.

You probably spent more time than most of us with this game. May I point out that aside the 5 globals in hunting you have :

Making those images alone of various things from different angles and different lights requires more time than I used to hunt.
Your activity is admirable, helpful folks are always useful for a game, for the new blood and each should try and explain what they know about the game. FACT: you know A LOT about forums, posting, screenshots, Christmas trees. FACT: you know jack about hunting. It's nothing wrong with that btw. Absolutely nothing. But when making theoris and explaining others how things are with this and that in hunting, then some of us might feel uncomfortable because it's bullshit based on nothing that new players come and read and believe you because fucking hell, you have 11645 posts and you must know the stuff... wrong. It requires some experience in a profession in order to teach others in THAT particular profession.

You started your post with "definately not an uber here" - that is obvious. Then, the next thing you say - your theory is that it's a casino. You cannot do more harm to the game even if you'd try to. And you can not be more wrong either.
I have much to learn about hunting but I knwo for sure that hunting is not a casino. As Mega well said, even if folks point in he right direction, some still treat the game as a religion: believe in what they want to believe.

The good news is that I see many new players around that are doing really well, having a lot of fun, understand the basics and seem they will be here for a long time :)

There is only one, how know how the loot work : MINDARK

All other is speculation, wishes, religion, dreams or what ever.

Why the hell is it awkward?...

because normally if you have any above average idea about how to cycle peds efficiently, no matter what profession, you'd have a hard time hiding it over time in this inaccurate tracker that basically shows "nothing" in some peoples opinion...

:twocents:

ontopic: it's realtime and there is no pool, it's a sink - region based in gothenburg

For the Ubers out there: Do you think that loot pools are RELIGION based? Or maturity based?

Yeah I know, I'm far from being uber, but I think it's all Religion based.
Just pray to lootius and your hunts will be fruitfull!
   :handgun::monkey: :twocents: :twocents: :woot:

If you think otherwise Lootius will punish you with crap loot!

The secret to good loot is to REALLY believe you will get that HOF.
If your faith is strong enough it will happen for sure!

And everyone who does not agree, or never got that HOF is simply not a strong enough believer :wtg:

why do you need to be uber to see that? just cos some uber kills 1k mobs a day with 6500 hp it doesnt say they know how everythign works. but someone who thoughtfully kills 5k berycled a day may recognize patterns that the uber doesnt. so pretty much bullshit to ask only ubers. ask the guys who dont depo at all and still have shitton of peds.

this.... too short

I have been told I am a lucky avatar, but, as the player, I do not see it that way.

As far as my own theory, I cycle in a non-typical manner. I aim for decay, as I believe decay and kill rate affects modifiers. Modifiers that I believe amplify loots, and seem to be some of the only opportunities to shoot abnormally ahead of your normal decay/income ratio.

Back in 2007 I won the Spring hunting championships and Stryker was the main opposition. What I learned from him (he had kill strike in something like a years time) was that, if you cycle like mad, and keep that rate of cycling up, the odds got better. To cycle up, it took decay, and kill rate back then. If you maintained that level of play it stayed good, if you took breaks...it fell off. ( decay on the cycle) This seemed to not only amplify overall loot return but the skill modifiers. (there were some bugs back then that actually reported the full skill gains to terminal to 6 or 8 decimal places)

Then they added Eco items and (L), and for good reason. The system as it was, would not sustain MA. People skilled too high too fast, and modifiers were thru the roof. (32k combibo youngs)

Loot in general was good and people overall were happier, with a bustling economy and lots of happy gamers, mainly because globals seemed easy for even the average player to hit on somewhat regular occasion.(everything was decay) And most know the story from there, (L) items came in, UL items became rare, especially any somewhat uneco old school items with certain ammo/decay ratios, and the new UL stuff starts flowing with 2.9-3.0 and up economy.

Stability is good as well, which is what ECO aims to create, in both the players PED card, and more importantly MA's. But for those that choose to risk some bigger losses on downswings, the rewards are greater as well, and this really hasn't changed since the game began, the abundance of ECO choices has.

That's my thought....Modifiers are not mob or area specific...they just hit when they hit. If you roll on Dasp for a day building your cycle to max modifiers for your gear(based on assumed max decay) and then HOF on a daikiba(say 10% of max loot)...I tend to think it would have modified to 10% of max loot on a Dasp...had we stayed. But the longer you roll on daikiba the faster your built cycle comes down to a new modifier level, since the decay rate on gear will almost always be lower.

Another theory.... For what its worth.. :)

well, if you managed to surpluss, you WERE lucky.
As I was a extremely unlucky avatar. Eco or uneco did not matter anything. It just sucked as I just didnt seem to hit that global nor hof.

well, I strongly disagree with this.
Loot was far from generally better.
The spread was much greater. Either you did nice, or it was a complete disaster. Those with uber gear did uber, those with normal gear did not do so well (unless you got lucky and hit that 10k daik, which was perfectly possible back then).
Now the globals and hofs are less, but the overall return is better...or at least, more steady.

if you cycle like mad, and keep that rate of cycling up, the odds got better.

Sure, what you said, the more and faster you cycle, the more globals. Yeah, well, thats obvious.
The more you hit that slotmachine, the more chances you get.

Again?

I've been reading the same posts for the last 11 years?

Just kill the damn thing.
Inspect his asshole.
Wear latex gloves first. You need to go deep.
Maybe a flashlight or small infrared camera could help.
When you finally touch something at the end.
Hold it tight, it can be very slippery, but don't give up.
Pull it slowly. If you pull too hard or fast, some might get lost.
Get your head down to see what lies.
I know it's exciting. Your heart is pumping.
You can't wait to see what's gonna appear.

Just have fun.

The game is simple.

Theres loot returns generated ahead of time.
Depending on your eco / skills effects your returns
More eco more skills for that area of hunting, mining, crafting the better the returns

Thats why +100 lvl's with super eco shot around the clock because they generate peds
and depending on your gear and setup and eco you will,

  • Lose a toin of ped
  • Lose a bit of Ped
  • Break Even
  • Make a little Pec
  • Make a lot of Ped

Your going to need a huge bankroll, invested a shit ton of time and money

Basically it looks like this

For the rare unique rings like Easter ring + Rare scope + sights and a IMK II or more eco weapon your at the tippy top.

For lesser setups with lesser skills you are futher down

The less players the less loot to be had from the pool and the less you make or more you lose. Sad thing is players are falling off like flies which makes more losses and less players this trend has to turn around or you will notice worse and worse returns...

And that will cause more and more players to leave so its a losing battle :( such a great game I hope things improve soon

you forgot one thing :

The peek of the pyramide is MA.

you forgot one thing :

The peek of the pyramide is MA.

That's a misunderstanding. MA is not on the pyramid. They always take their cut, constant %. So do planet partners.

What's left goes to loot pool and is divided as in the pyramid above.
