I'm so sick of seeing people willing to accept lying, etc. just because they don't like someone OR they are friends with someone else.

You know who you remind me of? One of those RL robbers in jail who cries about how he was dealt the wrong cards. How he was just trying to keep his family alive by robbing others yet no one cares for him. Video goes on and on with him crying in prison. Movies are even made of him and his life robbing others with his hole history of his family beating him. He blames everyone else but himself for the life he picked.

Yep that is you the Pirate who steals from others with cheers and laughter yet comes back crying when he is picked on.

People should quit bitching about pirates. It's an ingame feature that has never bothered me. Stimulates motherships, privateers, and space itself.

What was the lie? He was one-shotting the Kronan to just break their warps and delay them even when MA told him this was a bannable offence. Kronan had no knowledge of the warp mine and when they did warp never got pulled out. To them, this was the same tactic Xane has used many times on them to cause them delay and been banned for.

Again, this has been discussed at length awhile ago..

So in 1650 you're in a Martinique bar and Blackbeard waltzes up and says "so what ya hauling on that ship out there and where ya headed?" you would tell him the truth?

I dont want to read y.all braging about pirates being bad. I did read half the post and i had enough.

Space was designed to be pvp. I lost loot over pirate in space. I can eventually secure my shit planet side.. when i step into space i am aware i could be killed by pirate.

If i was a pirate. Living out of piracy.. shooting ppl down to loot them. Like i did in lootable planet side pvp. I would use all the mechanics provided by the game.

I would interupt you TP chip loading.. i would tag a mob that could kill u instead of me. I would heal you and kill you after to make sure i get your loot.

How space is different today? Xane hit your MS to avoid you to load your warp same as tp chip. His team mate prepare a mine that is provided by the mechanics of the game. You have several fuckin turret u can use in the MS to prevent this. Step up. Set up defense defense crew. Y.all in space acting like you are victims. If i pay a warp i ask to have gunner seat active to defend my SHIT. Grow up and act up a fuckin gunner will take down a quad in no time..

During this incident, I was in a gunner seat and prepared to shoot him if he came in range (at a ped a shot btw). But, alas, space is fucked up presently and a MS gun seems to have a shorter range than a quad. So Xane is able to step just out of range while still tagging the ship to break the warp.

BTW, you may want to give it a try once before trying to talk about it.

I dont want to reply as a slap back. Just acknowledge the fact i was member of kronan someyears ago. I had a gunner lvl you probably wont reach. Shoting my ped shot out of it and i took down pirate with loot. Now y.all should get on ts. Your pilot should be coordinated with the gunner and i bet you like pigen and i did defend . You will be able to

Nobody force MS to use warp.
That is bad excuse (hey pirates - we have wrap so let us in peace).
All problems come with bad programed pvp space by MA.
Remove pvp space and all will be solved.
Or even better reintroduce interplanetary teleports and motherships and pirates can keep any kind of space they want.

Try out EVE, join a big PvP Soc.
Then learn about spacewars, you simply have to be more shooters to win a war.
Ship really doesn´t matter.
Enough fighters can bring down EVERY f...in big ship.

Why not hire a pirate hunter to take care of it?

You can then loot his frozen corpse from his capsule and sell it on auction for a good price.

A mothership can fly towards a quad faster then it can backpedal.

In EVE (as a rule) you're paying RL money (PLEX) to build up your ship. When you're defeated in Space and your ship is destroyed you have lost all your deposits. Have to deposit again to build a new ship. (Oversimplified but you get the point).

If you are able to withdraw funds from the game or not doesn't make any difference in this situation. In both games it's RL money that was lost.

In EVE everyone will laugh at you if you try to call your opponent a thief. In EU, however, the overwhelming public opinion agrees with you. Yes, the guy who shot you down was a thief.

Common sense tells both can't be true at the same time. Who's wrong, EVE or EU player base?

We all know the EU playerbase is wrong here. It's not stealing or thievery, it's literally a game mechanic. A majority of the player base simply cannot accept that some people like to play differently than themselves, using the built in game mechanics.

So yea, the EU community is just laughable in that sense.

Anyone who dont want to be thief can go play EVE.
MS owners and pirates were not forced to chose their profession and that is 1% of player base.
The rest - so 99% of player base is forced to pay fun for those 1%.
And you said that in EVE thy loose ship because destroyed but i dont remember that anyone posted on forum that he lost mothership or other space vehicle.
Instead of that forum is full of stolen cargo notices.

Yes in Eve and many other games you do spend RL money to loose it for the fun of it. And many times I stated that if EU became a subscription based game like Eve where your only option was to deposit then I would have no issues with Pirates. None. Yes I may call them names for the fun of the game but still the fact is as many, like you, try and say that this game is the same as any other game yet you, like me, are only here because this game is RCE based and we have only one hope that maybe we can get something back from the game.

In this game the Pirates are here in hopes that they can get that big loot off someone in space so that THEY CAN WITHDRAW IT back into RL money.

Simply put, PLEX has no value (please don't bring up the black market) while PEDs do have RL value. And yes I even had some pirates try and deny this basic idea by stating that at anytime MA could go bankrupt. I love it when they try to use that justification.

Your completely wrong in this case, in the past I have indeed delayed the Kronan's warp specifically to to delay their schedule and cause grief. This was my solution to them camping and policing us(pirates). They were disrupting my activities in game so I was interrupting theirs. The idea was eventually an agreement would have been reached were I would not disrupt them and they would leave us alone. Unfortunately they chose not to properly defend their ship and instead just report me for harassment and again unfortunately MA sided with them and temp banned me.

Now the rules of engagement have been made clear and you are in fact allowed to single shot and disrupt a warp so long as your intentions are to destroy the ship. MA gave an example of delaying a ship while waiting for backup to arrive. So in this case delaying them for a few minutes while my crew laid a mine and got into position to attack them imo fell within in the nature of pvp.

I was still banned however and even after providing chat logs showing our intentions with the warp mine MA just quoted themselves about not single shooting a MS warp without the intention of pvp. They basically ignored the part where we dropped a warp mine and would not comment any further when I asked them for an explanation for my ban.

To Kronan's credit they would have not known of the warp mine and from their perspective it would have looked exactly like the warp delays they had reported me for in the past. My biggest mistakes were believing a Kronan crew member and trusting what MA had said to me regarding disrupting warps.

Some intelligent people in here have pointed out that it's OK to dislike how someone else chooses to play the game but lying to them and abusing support in order to get them banned is very unethical.

You have to admit, discussions about space & pirates always stirs up strong emotions.
And, be truthful, you see a thread about pirates, you immediately know that its going to be interesting.

I liked the picture painted of pirates as thieves, in gaol & always blaming others, they just did it for their starving families.


I seem to have this mental picture of Xane in that role now

I have no issue being called a thief as long as it's with in the context of the game and the role I play in this game. The problem I have is when you try and make the jump from accusing me of being a thief in the game and being a thief in RL. I know people have trouble separating these two because the game does have a fixed exchange rate and so everyone considers it real money. Even so your are still playing a game.

This game has its own rules that don't apply to RL and in this game the consequences of your actions are different then those in RL. Seems kind of silly to have to explain this so simply but here goes.....

In professional poker your are playing with real money yet your still playing a game and if another player beats you and take your money you don't get to call them a thief. I mean you can but you would be laughed at, in EU(home of the mentally unstable and imature) however this is somehow tolerated?

Anyway I'm sure once e-lite see's this thread he will locked it and ban me from here because he likes me about as much as MA and most of the player base does so get your comments in now before it's too late!
