Well, let me just says this before I put you on ignore because now you're making it a personal attack on me, if I had the time AND money I would be online a lot more. But I have a house to pay and children to feed. Also I have a family that requires my attention. I can impossibly deposited 1000$ per month for the simple fact that I dont have such money lying around.
That I got 2 babies and had to spent less time ingame, makes me a lurker?

Jeezzz, well I'll rather be a low life lurker, slowly progressing each year, than a rich kid buying his way up
in the game, pumping his avatar full of skills to be uber. Thinking by doing so he/she owns the game.

If that makes me less importan into your eyes, well, go xxx yourself.

It's THIS uber attitude that chases away normal players with normal budgets.

Skill in/out locked during event if u participate (maybe free transform of points to new category with same time spent if u hit over lvl 50 combat proff during event)

Just a thought on what format i would join to competite for prizes otherwise i just put 1k ped on event and see how far i can get :D

If you'd be playing the game you would know that you don't need 1000$ a month to hunt, for example.
That's how new players and normal players may flee from the game, because "oh, look, wizz playing for 12 years saying you need 1000$ a month to play thins".
People somehow tend to believe BS like that, not knowing there are players who aren't depositing much and sill do fine. That's why it's important to play the game to learn it, instead of reading the forums and learning from people that have been around for 10 years but with very little to no game activity.

just that some play 16 hours a day for 2 years or even 24 hours with shared avatars, as quite a few "ubers" do doesnt make em worth anything more. yes, they are valuable for MA but just that they mindlessly grind for incredible amounts of time doesnt make em smarter in terms of knowing the game. i know quite a few people that a lot would call ubers, that are absoultely clueless in what they are doing and who dont understand a single fucking thing. they blow thousands of dollars each months and still have no idea how the basic mechanics work. they just spend, gamble and sometimes get lucky. this targets especially most of the ep4 perma crafting gamblers.
and then there is the kind of players, non depo, playing since 10 years, who are at low or medium level but who know exactly how it works and have a deep understanding of the EU mechanics.
most of the time the guys with big credit cards simply have no knowledge whatsoever of what they are doing. they can grind and not think about it because they dont have to watch their ped card. the people who doesnt have that much money, the ones who need to look out for their ped card to not die instantly after a deposit, those are the people who have deep understanding and those are the people to ask in how to change the game so it will get better.

True, I had 3 years of relative inactivity due to REAL life situation.

I don't think this can be done; I'm not sure it would be fair either. What if you have the funds to rent such a tool? There are other good tools too... we can't have a totally equal event atm. People work hard for skills, gear, this grinding should have some benefits after all, not let this game become a seasonal thing, play it during MM then log off for a year.

But have no fear, Battle simulator is near. And it's as equal as it can get.

Except maybe the part that the hardcore grinders don't know the game better than the rest... I'm not sure about this one, no one really knows actually how it works. We would know if someone knows. How would we know? They wouldn't stop shooting, at all.

I disagree with this one.
I have been around for 12 years. I am playing the game for like a year and a half. It's when I started shooting more I realized how fun it is, how little the cost of shooting actually is if you're doing a bit of research. Being around for 12 years at a low/medium level does not mean you have deep understandign of the game when you can get these days to 100 in around 2 years moderately playing.

Advise/opinion from low level but 12 years of playing is not so good to anyone, MA or newcommers , ppl don't have to learn how to stay low level for 12 years for fucks sake....

Nor is the advice worth anything from a 2 year old who bought tons of skills and started shooting away thousands of peds. They live in their own bubble, standing far away from the majority of the playerbase.
No newcomer would benefit from those players because they cannot identify with such players ever. They can only look up in envy.

The game would benefit more from the 12 year MID lvl player who gives advice about how to make the game worthwile enough to stay for over 12 years.

Ah well, but you will probably firmly disagree with that as well.

Combine this with the other Idea Duncis had after he went mental on Mega for no particular reason at all

So:

Categories like above + Earn your ticket towards MM by doing activities for your category ticket.
Apply for your ticket:
Mission category 1: hunt 1000 mobs, get 10 globals, be done with it in december
Mission category 2: hunt 3000 mobs, get 50 globals, be done with it in december
Mission category 3: hunt 5000 mobs, get 100 globals, be done with it in december

The above scenario will rule out "siters.brothers,grandpa's and grandma's, cats and dogs" of the avatar to give your used gear to.

im not talking about people who play this game for 1 hour a week for 12 years. im talking about a total playtime of roughly 3 years in that time.

and also: yes, of course you can trade urself rich or do low level hunting up till you got enough to grind big mobs regularly. but fact is: thats boring as hell. so maybe people like to play a little more wasteful but stay on a lower level because their budget doesnt allow them more AND they want to enjoy the game.

I don't understand you wizz. You say you never deposited BUT you are happy with your progress. BTW, this is the key ingredient to the game, having the right expectations from it, being happy with how you play, so kudos for you on that subject. BUT, in teh same time you're having the common 'uber frustration'. Ubers trigger you somehow. You're not planning of putting on the line what they are (time, money, energy) but you at the same time have an allergy at these players. Why is that? They pay for the servers for you to enjoy the game for free at your pace. WHY the hell are they to blame for that? Why is it wrong for ppl to buy with $ deposited? Are you aware you are in a RCE game? Are you aware that for this game to keep existing we need more & constant depositors? I think they should have a brainstorm about how the events should be, since nothing motivates you to drop a penny in the game :) Your dedication is valuable but it doesn't pay bills.

Yes, I still state you don't know how to play the game. Neither do I. You made 1k$ in 10 years, why are you taking pride in this? Others made houses from this game :D

Thats why i suggested Cat3 with no rules... top prizes for ubers :D So in short existing MM becomes Cat 3 while they add 2 more for low/medium players without fear they dont have a chance with all that highend borrowed guns on alts...

BTW 8 pages and no real suggestions or opinions what would you like to see.. only few? Trolls? Post count collectors?

i would like to participate in events for prizes but without some balance they would need top 100 places :) or face it with reality which is MM as it is now is only for ubers and a lot of ppl are avoiding it for that

Why "get xx globals" to participate?
So, if you're shit out of luck and constantly miss that global, you wont be able to participate?
Why not only just a kill count regardless of loot?

Apart from that I like the idea.

The idea of a reward or requirement based on progress during the year is really great. But best would be to count HP killed, instead of killcount. Or globals, that is also fine, luck has nothing to do with it, this is another loot theory :D :D Sure, some days can be really dry, but constant activity evens this out and luck doesn't matter... :)

I didnt say I NEVER deposited.
But if you really want to know, I deposited in 2006 and took the same amount plus some extra out in 2008. After that nothing (except for some boxes recently to gamble for some rings). And playing ever sincce from that.

I don't have a thing against ubers. But I do have a thing against some ubers saying they're worth more than other because the pay/play more.

Luckily most of the high ranking player base are fair players and I have no problems whatsoever against them.

This post was started to try and seek a balanced approach from the community. There was no slant and it was a straightforward question with a number of suggestions. To take it the way you have gone is just appalling. You don't know me and you don't know how much I pull in a year but to say you would be surprised by the figure is nothing more than boastful by me.

Take a look at some of my previous postings and you will understand my profession.

How about we keep personal prejudices out of this, exercise some restraint and just look at the question. If you don't want to get involved then don't bother.

There's a gazillion + 1 threads of things like this. About how the game needs to change to each players wish, by players who refuse to play the game by the game's rules. Why making 2 more? Why do I have to restrain if ppl don't restrain from making new topics with how this needs to change. I don't see top players doing this often, they just play and win, either prizes or ped or fun time with friends. Ideally you'd go easier with the brainstorming on the game's stairs and do more shooting.

I think I said it before, puny mobs have no place in a loot discussion. Puny mobs are for 2-3 days tops for new players. Your choice to kill them for 10 years, but you should not aim high in the competition based on this activity :D

Battle sim around the corner, you can be all equal and things will be awesome

Why would I laugh? 20 globals a year is your pace and you're fine with that. That is a good thing. But like it or not that shows your very little experience with the game mechanics, IMO. New players and MA should consider that too, when looking at your loot theories, advice, opinions of how things work and how they should work.
I hope you'll do more shooting with those 10k$, maybe in the battle sim if not on puny mobs :)

To be fair they need to set up 11 instances instead of 4 or 5

Instance 1. Level 1-10
Instance 2. Level 11-20
Instance 3. Level 21-30
Instance 4. Level 31-40
Instance 5. Level 41-50
Instance 6. Level 51-60
Instance 7. Level 61-70
Instance 8. Level 71-80
Instance 9. Level 81-90
Instance 10. Level 91-100
Instance 11. Level +100

This would separate all the major tiers and allow for a fairer spread of ability. It would showcase each levels and the best players in each level. The mega ubers with high end weapons then can only compete in their fettered category and doesnt impact on the other 95% of players.
