New Features

  • Added the Battle Simulator, a new globally-available time-trial competitive instance. (First leaderboard prizes to be awarded on Friday, March 10th at 15:00 UTC). For full details, please see the Battle Simulator web page.
  • Physically based rendering (PBR) has been implemented.
  • There is now a message at the start of a Dynamic instances that says it has extra loot that can be claimed.
Fixes

  • The ‘Create’ button in the Support Center interface now opens the EntropiaUniverse.com support web page.
  • Fixed an issue causing the shader cache not to work as intended in some situations.
  • Fixed missing parts of space warp effects.
  • Fixed an issue causing effects flickering, for example upon avatar death.
  • Fixed an issue causing friend request messages not to be displayed.
  • Fixed an issue causing deteriorated items to be shown as quest rewards.
  • Fixed an issue causing equipped items to be unequipped regardless of what option is selected in the conflicting items dialog.
  • Fixed an issue causing chat window focus to be lost upon completion of mindforce chip upload.

Known Issues
  • It is possible to fall and become stuck in some areas of the Battle Simulator instance, stick to the centre path and bridges.
  • Temporary garments from the Battle Simulator avatar are sometimes still rendered after exiting the instance (relog to fix).
  • Avatars will become stuck when entering the Battle Simulator while the crafting interface is active.
  • After destroying the turret at beginning of third zone of the Battle Simulator, a red dot may remain visible on radar. It still counts as destroyed and the zone can be completed.
  • Entering the Battle Simulator from The Hub on Cyrene will result in weapons not functioning.
  • Participants who have modified the default movement keybinds may not be able to move once entering the Battle Simulator.

MindArk and the Planet Partners strive to ensure a smooth and problem-free Version Update. Nevertheless, even after extensive testing some issues may arise after release. Such issues are often addressed via mini-patches directly after a release and in subsequent patches. If you feel that the possibility of encountering minor issues or bugs directly after a Version Update affects your gameplay to an extent that Entropia Universe is not enjoyable, please wait until the mini-patches have been released and any last minute issues have been resolved.

So what happens when you enter the Battle Sim?

Are we automatically wearing armour?
Is the weapon already equipped?
Or do we have to create quick buttons to use battle sim fap and weapon?

Maybe we don't lose HP? Is avatar HP deterioration disabled?

Cheers

The Entropia Universe Battle Simulator is a time-trial assault course. Exterminate all robot enemies and finish as fast as you can!

Equal Playing Field

Battle Simulator runs are performed using a premade avatar with standardized skills, weapons and armor. Ammo consumption and deterioration are disabled. Additionally, all buffs are paused while inside the Battle Simulator instance.

How to Get Started

The Battle Simulator can be accessed anywhere in Entropia Universe:

Click the ‘Event List’ action from the Action Library.
Select ‘Global Instances’ from the Event Areas listing on the left side.
Double-click ‘Battle Simulator’ in the central window, then click the ‘Register’ button and ‘Confirm’ to authorize the entrance fee.
Win Prizes!

Loot Crate for Completion

Completing the Battle Simulator course gives access to a special loot crate. Unclaimed loot from other participants’ uncompleted runs may also increase the total value of the loot crate.

Completion times will be entered into the Battle Simulator weekly leaderboard, where participants compete for additional rewards (see the “Leaderboard” section below).

Be on the lookout for the occasional message at the start of each run announcing extra bonus loot for completing the instance!

Leaderboard

Viewing the Leaderboard
You can view the current leaderboard by pressing the ‘Scores’ button opposite the ‘Register’ button in the Event List interface (see above).

Checking Times on the Leaderboard
Only each participant’s best time is recorded on the leaderboard. To view a participant’s time, hover over the participant’s name or picture in the leaderboard.

Prize Pool
A portion of each Battle Simulator entry fee is added to the leaderboard prize pool; the current value of the prize pool can be viewed on the leaderboard display. Prizes are distributed using a dynamic payout structure: the more runs attempted, the more positions that will receive a prize and the larger the prize values. At the end of the week (midnight on Sundays, UTC) leaderboard prizes are delivered to the planet storage of each winner’s current avatar location, along with a confirmation message sent via the Message Center.

A symbol directly under a participant’s ranking number indicates that the participant will receive a prize for their current leaderboard position. Hover over the symbol to see the current prize value.

‘Time until reward’ indicates the time remaining until leaderboard prizes are awarded. Note that the Battle Simulator will close one hour before this time. Participants currently in the Battle Simulator after closing will be permitted to finish their run.

Notes

Planet Partner revenue sharing is determined by the location of a participant’s avatar when entering the Battle Simulator instance.
In cases where a Battle Simulator run is interrupted due to a technical issue or server disruption, the entrance fee will be refunded automatically.

You get three weapons (atleast you should get that, I didnt but others seem to get it)
One rocket launcher - medium range/high dmg
Grenade launcher - high aoe dmg
And one buff gun - reduces movement speed/low dmg
There are 4-5 levels with bots/turrets

You start with 850 hp-ish and you dont get any heals.

The mission is to kill all mobs and if you do that you get loot and depending on how fast you were you'll be eligible for a prize

Tried it. you get three weapons, rocket launcher, grenade launcher and an "entangler" they are hotkey'ed to 1, 2 and 3. respectively. You are in first person view and it does not seem possible to change that. There does not seem to be any way of healing either. I died rather quickly :)

The Entropia Universe Battle Simulator ..........

thank you.

Cool with me, I see a Mod Shadow set for sale in forum 120K....yep ok then, smiles.

Well at least there was this thank god....although now after over a year my mind was trained to instinctively stop typing 8 seconds after casting my tp chip to avoid 32 windows from opening...

Battle Simulator is basically Quake (circa 1996), but with added EU bullshit (and gambling).

Evade hits, criticals from mobs, trapping, ninja spawns.

You pay 4ped entry, and regular loot is 3.00 ped (split amongst socket components (all), output amplifiers, shrapnel and sometimes an A2 1mg skillpill).

I got a 450ped hof, with the same items as above.

Layout is 3 zones, with 5 mob types:

Eviscerator standard (melee)
Eviscerator golden (ranged+melee)
Turrets (ranged)
Spider bots (melee)
Warlocks (Ranged+melee+grenade)

At the end, you destroy 3 generators (and all mobs) and there is a single loot crate.

Is there healing towards the end? I havent seen it but isnt there supposed to be one?

To fellow casual players... Be prepared to throw several hundred PEDs away before you can think of completing the course even once and get some return. :dunno:

I pass.

Big disappointment. :bs:

Could see this coming when they first announces all avatars are equal.

I could finish on second try... and my reflexes n aim ... nothing to be proud of :D

"It's not fair, they have more money"

"It's not fair, they have played longer"

"It's not fair, they can move the mouse better"

...

Yes, there is a waypoint behind you once you enter the final zone. But I haven't used it yet so can't be more specific!

Rocket launchers, what a load of shit; back to the real game.

Rocket launchers, what a load of shit; back to the real game.

What is real? A game within a game, a simulation within a simulation...

Rockets sounds fun to me, and it's cheaper than outside. Can try it only tomorrow though when I get to the shop with free wifi, unless I lose it and opt to suck the update through the cellphone.

All that time playing UT might pay off then :yay: ahhh rocket arena.

More or less yeah. Once you figure out the rocket arc it's generally just movement + a few other niche tips.

lol...

Well depends how we perceive value versus entertainment. To try and skill taming to higher levels, was costing me 75 ped loss per unlimited whip for 2 hours in "the real game", excluding the odd even run. So I stopped few weeks ago because the chance of a recovery hof is probably non-existent.

So one whip 'loss' equates to 18.75 goes at this sim.
or one whole whip 210 peds / 4 ped = 52.5 attempts.

Not tried it yet to be honest, although 50 attempts seems pretty reasonable cost wise, and probably loot something back. Unless you're saying its boring.

Killing 10K iron mission mobs is more boring I reckon.....ha,ha.

EPIC FAIL

could've atleast given us some nice toys to play with like an AIMKII & AMM, + modfap.

A little harsh. They did say it was in its infant stage.

What 5$ said. The concept is very good and appealing to skill based players though.

EDIT: Skill as in individual maneuvering and aiming. There is no team work involved, so it really is up to real individual skills. Yes, there is a lot more room for improvement. One influential improvement MA could implement right away, for example, is to decrease the mob damage radius.

That's an instance, a game within the game. Can give acces to a HOF for 4 ped only without any gambling ( dynamic promotionnal/swedish luck ). Can bring in game whole new audience.
I tried to rush it 3 times then lost interest due to my shitty attention span Oh look, Snarksnot mission... I need to raise killstrike

Yes, but only if they advertise properly. I bet CS:GO players would be interested because of how fast reflexes they have.

But it should also encourage them to interact with the rest of the game otherwise it's not going to contribute to the PP economies.

As the first version I'm betting there will be ones dedicated to each planet within a few months.

I like it, at least gives an even playing field somewhere ingame and means a total newcomer to the game has a chance at something.
