Are planet owner allowed to play with their own avatar?

Yeah this shit has been rehashed so much, it is starting to sound like me bitching about joda.

Both are old and boring disputes anyhow, and there are many new piles of shit to worry about in this game.

Like:

That caly mob dropping Halix tails
People using awesome armor in BatSim.
More usuable zero tt items.
Intention bug of multiple rare HOFs when carrying same item to hide duplicators.
Goblins that look human and work in offices.
How driving backwards in a Spear mk-ii for over 1 kilometer causes mobs with multipliers to glow.
Like wtf-ever about compets
How about the dreaded decimal bug that causes nondepos to cry about .00001 ped.
or how WSS puts flaming bags of poo on my porch.

One 500+ loot and 3 x 300+ PED. That's all he has to show for the last 5 years...

If you think that's "actively playing" for a highly skilled uber avatar, well, I have to disagree.

Wait a minute here, I'm sorry but we may be debating about the same thing yet on the same page. I was thinking you stated that he wasn't playing the game actively. I'm sorry, I guess we are both on the same page here about him being active in game.

But yeah, it sucks that so many will put him down for being so.

I think a lot of people are just jealous. Regardless what assets they have in game, they are doomed to consume and will never pull off anything big and novel. They can't grasp a person who steps out of the ordinary and pathetically flail about, a rulebook the only thing to cling onto in their emptiness. Or vainness.

There's public information, and then there's information that's private to MindArk, or to a planet's team, or to both, but not to the public. By that logic, planet staff should be allowed to play anywhere except on their own planet, and MindArk staff.... well, MA stated years ago that their staff are encouraged to play ( with some caveat like not being able to withdraw or something in that vein). But gamer that I am, I would vastly prefer to play on planets whose development teams play through their own work on multiple test avatars having contrasting histories, skills, and gear, particularly each creative director and anyone who makes missions, local mechanics, or ambience. It's simple quality control.

Here's the short history of the other RCE(-like) game I once played:

• "The Golden Era" -- the devs were walking on Earth, partying with player base, giving away gifts at Christmas on the main town square etc
• "The Grey Era" -- devs still spotted testing the new features in-game now and then, once a year participated in bigger events
• Few years before the servers were shut down the developer team had totally withdrawn to their Ivory Tower, never to be seen in-game any more.

His answer suggest that he had some deal with MA and is allowed to play game normally.

It was simply why he is able to play or not then I guess shifted to if he was an active player or not with Fifth backing up that he was very active in game with many examples.

Well no, I think you misunderstood it a little.

See, different people have different level avatars and thus have different expectations. Like, I understand for someone who only uses Opalo 500 ped HoF is incredible achievement. Even if it'll be only once every 5 years it's still mind boggling.
The same goes for globals. Some people live in the world of miniglobals, to get a real 50+ ped global once a month is like living in a dream and means you obviously have to be a very active player.

On the other end of the scale there's the "real" ubers (as in: people with 250-300 HP and skills @ lvl 100+) For them killing a Street King (lvl 50+ mob) is nothing, definitely not something that makes you uber.

So you see, it's all relative!

I'm no uber, don't have 250 HP and haven't even maxed any old school weapon properly. I'm definitely no high roller either, there's people who cycle a magnitude (some prolly two) more each month than me.

Still, if I had 500 ped HoF as my highest loot in 5 years, I would be devastated. In my last 5 years I have bunch of loots in the 1000+ bracket, and the biggest loot at 36k ped. For some people that's nothing, for others it's unbelievable and "very active" and "hardcore"... but compared to other people at the similar level it's indeed nothing special.

Compared to that, ND's 500 ped as highest loot in 5 years is nothing, definitely not anywhere near "actively playing"...

Funny but we were talking about if he is an active player in game yet you jumped on at first saying that he wasn't active at all..then showing all the globals he got throughout the years to show he wasn't active. The question wasn't how active he is in game, the question was if he uses his avatar in game at all to play for fun when he has the time. The answer is yes he does. But you kind of got a bit lost trying to prove that he doesn't. Was funny that you were backing up that he wasn't active with his globals really.

So yes we can debate about it. But sorry he is an active player.

Not that it's so terribly important topic really... but look, the NEVERDIE I know from old PE wasn't much of a miner or crafter. I might be wrong there. I didn't know him personally (and don't actually know him personally now either) and we don't have EL records form these times but, anyway, I kinda got the impression he was more like hunter and into stuff PvP. Y'know, that type of player. I'm sure we have ppl who can corect me if I got the wrong impression there.

If you now look at his activities, it's pretty low intensity overall and it's almost evenly spread across all 3 professions, right?
Why's that if he's doing this for fun? it seems to me, it's mostly done as a job, because he has to test things even if they don't really interest him. That's the impression I'm getting if I look at the data.

Now, could it be that sometimes he goes out to hunt, just for fun? Sure, it's certainly possible.
However, it's hard to call it "actively playing" (for the reasons I described in my previous post).

anyway, I certainly wouldn't mind If ND plays with his avatar, but that's just me. I'm certain many people don't agree with me, and you, on that. And that's OK, we all have our different take on things.

He did some mining in hell to try out the Rt finders when released. He hunts vary rarely from what i have seen, most recently trying out the Bonzo instance to find out how often the the spercifc loot for monster trucks fall. He mostly dose crafting bracelets and bonzo lockpicks that he gives as prizes for at events. He certainly dose not HOF/globel all the time.

Wait a sec, again, are we debating over the words "actively playing"? Actively playing has many meanings and as I pointed out, he does play when he has the time and such for him is actively playing. But that wasn't the point of all this. The question was/is does he (remove actively) play with his avatar in game. And as I pointed out, as you have, the answer to that is YES.



What is funny kind of is that looking at his globals compared to mine it almost looks like he plays more then I. Just look at all his ATHs. I which I could just get just one. But still the focus of this topic is does he play EU with his avatar and the answer is yes.

I was under the impression that when you own a planet you are not allowed anymore to use that avatar for playing purposes as you could have an unfair advantage... anyone knows if this is true? and are u allowed to do nothing anymore apart from event creation etc?
cos i just found NEVERDIE on rank 254 on battlesim. was wondering if he even is allowed to play that.
