Remove TT / Repair Terminal and TT value of stuff

I'm not entirely sure if this will be good or bad, currently trying to gauge what people think about it.

As I see it, the most important commodity in EU now is PED. PED are deposited, PED are rolled through EU professions, PED are withdrawn. Currently, there are a lot of PED sinks in EU, and EU would come to an abrupt stop if nobody deposited anymore. Currently MindArk seems to be bent on removing the MU from the game (one obvious reason would be that it helps smart ppl to deposit less and get by more).

How removing TT would work:
1. Everything would only have market value (as in, whatever other players are willing to pay for it).
2. Ammo would be crafted (by crafters) from widely available resources (from mining). Example: crafting blp would take some iron/lead ore and some gunpowder (which would also be crafted from other ore / enmatter). Similar examples can be found for Laser / Plasma. Mindforce can easily be crafted from Sweat, or vibrant sweat, make it more available, would also mean a boost to mindforce since newcomers would have a meaning for their gathered sweat.
3. Repairing melee weapons would take mostly metal ores and some forging / crafting skills. Every type of melee weapon could have individual type of materials required to repair it.
4. Mining probes could be crafted
5. Shrapnel could still be converted to universal ammo.
6. Remove EP ammo, or convert it so that it uses widely available ore / enmatter (like every other ammo). People will still gamble on ammo, mainly because the resources needed would be widely available and widely needed.
7. Markup on items would be a raw value per unit (translated from current % MU of TT value).
8. HOFs would be based on the amount of items looted / rare items rather than TT value. (xxx looted 5120 Lysterium, yyy looted 432 Devil's Tail, zzz found a rare Magic Item that does nothing)

What this would achieve:
1. You can still deposit PED and withdraw $ from the game.
2. Stuff still have value, and the value goes up and down with availability / demand (whereas currently people are guaranteed 95% returns TT back).
3. Mining / Crafting / Hunting / Trading are all back tied together, at least at some basic, high demand level.
4. You can remove unused stuff form game, or allow people 1-2 months to TT everything that they don't need prior to this. Also stop dropping crap from mobs / mining that isn't used in anything.
5. PED would only be used for fees and for buying stuff directly from other players or Auction.
6. It would make PED loss less apparent. You can now to out and hunt and figure out at the end if you either lost or profited from that hunt / mining session. After this, it'd be a lot harder to track returns and also involve actual trading skills for getting your money back.

What side-effects this would have:
1. Initially, it'll greatly diminish turnover until people accommodate to the new system of having to craft ammo / repair stuff using resources (rather than PED)
2. I guess being eco would still have an effect on what / how much you can loot compared to people in the same server as you, so eco equipment would not loose value.
3. There might be a possibility of high MU items today to loose value since there would be no actual TT gain.
4. More PED would be deposited in the game, since all this only increases the value of PED, by increasing the need for fresh PED (since it inhibits turnover)

Feel free to suggest other things that would be possible once the TT would be removed, and also provide negative feedback if I failed (and most likely did) to account of something.

Edit: Added mining probes logic, hofs logic

so what happens if MA goes belly-up?

Thanks, but i'd like to at least get base-value for my shit.

The remainder of what you mention has to do with resource consumption in crafting... aka a crafting overhaul. We've needed this for years but MA could give a fuck less about sustainability of their game at this point.

Likely trying to juice their numbers w/ events and tt shitstorms like EP4 in preparation to sell EU as no one would buy it running at a loss 15 years in.

Most likely, nothing...

Even if you get to TT everything and MA is actually forced to give you TT value currently, I doubt MA has enough liquidities to actually cover the TT value of all items in the game. So, as far as I'm aware, we're already past the point of no return concerning that.

MA is a company, that can be liquidated if needed, but since there's not enough liquidity to cover every damn ped in the game, most people will already not get anything back. MA can only give you $ for your PED as long as it's alive.

You'd still be able to sell your loot to other players for PED, and cash out that PED into $ as you can currently (while MA is alive).

This removal of TT value would only decrease the value of items that nobody wants and increase the value of items that everyone wants.

They're required by law to keep enough cash reserves to cover the base value of items and pedcards. similar to a casino being required to keep enough cash reserves to cover chips on the floor. Even Sweden has these laws.

Actually it's last six months of deposits up to our our TT value or which ever is the lower.

MINDARK'S LIABILITY TOWARDS YOU SHALL, IF ACKNOWLEDGED, IN EACH INCIDENCE BE LIMITED TO NO MORE THAN THE TOTAL AMOUNT TRANSFERRED INTO THE INVOLVED ACCOUNT BY SAID PARTICIPANT UNDER SIX MONTHS PERIOD PRIOR TO THE INCIDENT.

So in other words, if you haven't deposited in the last 6 months prior to MA going belly up they're liable for 0 ped and that's after all the creditors get paid.

Removing the tt will not solve all EU's problems it won't result in a renaissance in crafting it will just encourage people to stop depositing and if MA can't pay the bills then wave goodbye to EU.

Easier to keep the tt but stop dropping mid and high level items in loot and make them crafted only - something a lot of players have been asking for for a bloody long time.

putting ammo in the crafting pool would seriously punish the casual low level player who doesn't want to search for a reasonable deal and then will end up with ammo from auction for 105%, but doesn't get stacks big enough to sell his loot at market value. runs outta ped and is gone. that said, with no base value, ie 100% most sales/purchases would likely be at cheapest possible fast sale, causing a race to the bottom
