There is something weird about oldtimers with UL guns and armors complaining about the lack of markup, why should "we" be selfentitled to markup when not spending any......I use enhancers but thats the extent of MU that I use and there is tons of us. For markup to exist there must be a reason, that reason cant be that oldtimers can leach from beginners that gets tired of the game then quits since its too pricy for them because they have to pay MU everywhere or lack of efficiency. Its a big chain and IMO all those chains as in loot/weapons/crafting and mining needs an overhaul.
Allso I dream of new and mroe content!
Sobering thoughts there.
So how did we arrive to this point?
It was all done only with the best intentions in mind...
It started long ago with fiddling around with the balance of L weapons market. For some reason MA desided crafters is not a good source for L guns, this whole part of the game had to be shut down and replaced with looted guns. To make the game cheaper and keep average MU lower I suppose?
The fatal blow was the Explosive BP's, a single move that shut down mining (all markup gone), crafting (all markup gone except amps and even that one diminished significantly) and hunting (no more market for animal oils).
After a while it dawned to MA that all the demand for animal oils is gone (surprise surprise!)
Losing all the markup in the main profession, that's not good. What to do now? "Smart people" as they are, MA apparently decided, well if demand's gone supply needs to be "regulated" as well.
That's how we got the shrapnel. Guaranteed 101%, that should keep everyone happy.
Meanwhile we got the 1 PED guns, a magic way to show high MU while pushing the price of the gun even lower. I can bet the guy who came up with that idea got a nice fat bonus... until they realized it blew up the whole loot system and created a massive exploit as a result.
Road to Hell is paved with good intentions...
One move leads to another, and everything's interconnected. The only way to undo this shit now that I can see is to roll
everything back to pre-Explo situation.
No, it wouldn't solve the problem with the "full UL economy". It would only put us back to square one. From there we can take another stab at the real solution for this problem. Hopefully something that doesn't include blowing up the whole economy in the process, this time.
Edit: 1 PED guns are a problem only if they come in through the loot system. How about giving the magic of super high MU over to crafting industry instead? Just a thought... I'm sure there's more and better ones out there.
