Quick question about Combat Tokens

I think I understand them to make sure I do here is what I think.
The mob must be shared loot and you hunt in a gang, like the ones hunting the Rextelums and malffs. However I think that you maybe able to hunt them alone and also get combat tokens. Regular mobs that are not shared will not give CBs and I am not even sure all of the shared mobs will either.

only boss mobs from shared loot waves give combat tokens

warchief kazrak , sand king, daikiba raging bull
 
Hogglo Diablo, vanguard shared and hogglo diablo can drop them aswell
 
Thanks for the info guys. For some reason I thought that the lowers mat mobs would give them but now that I think about it that seems to be what I remember also.
