MindArk has been monitoring the community discussions concerning so-called 'loot waves' and will implement changes in the Loot 2.0 and subsequent Version Updates that will address this issue by improving the distribution of resources and items, with the goal of ensuring that loot opportunities are more interesting, dynamic and fair for all participants
For optimal loot, it will be important to avoid inefficiencies such as low damage output compared to creature health, excessive time and cost to kill, overkill damage, unmaxed weapons and other factors.
hmm...
so low damage weapons that avoid overkill won't be as much of a factor as dps? Wonder if there'll be a 'loot timer' where the loot gets worse with each subsequent second but then you get taxed on the overkill?
Also, does removing ammo from loot mean nanocubes are going in?
A profession level requirement will be introduced for non-(L) armors. Meeting the required level results in the armor offering full protection at all condition values. If the profession requirement is not met, armor works as before, with protection decreasing relative to condition.
this means that the MU on UL armors will go up up up
depends on the level requirement... perhaps we should suggest to them the levels they need to add... otherwise we may end up with level 70 needed for gremlin or something silly like that.
What I REALLY wish they'd do is change the way sib works... 0/10 ha before you are in the learning period 'hurts' badly, and I suspect causes a lot of new folks to end up super uneco since they don't realize what's going on til they've burned some ped. When they redid it a while back to make what used to be 2/10 become 5/10 or something, it helped, but more could be done... Old school weapons should be converted to something like sib, but without the 0/10 part of it if possible before you meet whatever they randomly require as the level requirement
It's kinda insane and weird that at my level (16 or is it 17 - haven't checked in a while) katsuichi determination (my favorite blade) is 4.5/10 or something, but the adjusted version is 0/10. Makes me wonder if they'll do likewise with other stuff, or be 'more smart' about it.
irl I used to work at a casino a while back. Some of what reading this makes me think about is the days when the casino would do slot tournaments, so button mashing craziness would consume a short period of time... vs the regulars just spinning the wheels at slow descent rate... Will this need to up dps cause something similar in game... instead of hunting for hours at a time, it'd be better to come in hard and heavy for 10-20 minute increments? Imagine getting penalized for auction browsing, or my ol favorite hobby of interior decorating, lol.
Also, for once and all get rid of the decay on clothes... you did it for armor, so do it for clothes. Kinda irritating that my old arctic clothes from the thing finally are too low to be used, especially since they updated the blasted shopkeeper code after I posted about how you could use it on them at that low level...
Maybe... also... perhaps... let us put items back in the hallways on calypso since you can on other planets... Won't do much on the loot side, but would make folks that loot shopkeepers happy.
and... about that shop directory... ...
