Loot 2.0 has brought us new BP's, hybrid between the Explo BP's that use only nanocubes and the old classical BP's that used only loot and ores.

Looks like MA's trying to keep the MU of the final product low to make sure it's competitive?

Haven't seen any new end product BP's yet that use those new components. Interesting what that stuff looks like...

they shoulda removed the old school crap bps from loot til they put the blazers back in hunting since crafters are looting dupes of old crap left and right tonight.

here:
Features/Changes
  • A new series of component blueprints are being introduced. The purpose of these blueprints is for skilling up and to find new blueprints. The components crafted with these are only used in this series of blueprints and will not be included in any other blueprints. These blueprints are available on all planets.
  • Two new series of limited blueprints for new limited weapons are being introduced. These blueprints are available on all planets.
(Bolding mine - H.)

End product more useless than EP.

Aw thanx, managed to miss that one.

OK, so the real question is, what will the new BP's look like that have useful end products. Also "hybrids" or old school? :scratch2:

No answers yet, but I have a suspicion that it's gonna be new items with buffs.... Old school was UL. Then there was L/Sib stuff... Buffs are the newest part of the game and people have been begging for new uses for crafting, so it makes sense... We'll see what happens over time.

The markup on em is stupid right now just like it was for ep when they first came out. Best to just try to loot em yourself until all of the blueprints are tt+1

Not crafting 2.0

i suspect this is the start of the end for EP

its similar in a way to the suggestion i made on Cyrene Forum

This made me think, i wonder if Cyrene were to take their own version of Nanocubes. Make a BP I-IV with same or higher crafting costs, with material from the Cyrene TT (prehaps 1pec of a very common cyrene loot per craft, not much but it will add up. Not too much as it might put the gamblers off). it should pull the gamblers and cyrene will rake it in.

For example

1) Buy Cyrene Scrap Steel from TT, Craft from bps I-IV to make a worthless TT food re-manufactured Steel
2) Buy Cyrene Scrap Steel from TT, Craft bp I to make re-manufactured Steel
This can be used to craft bp II to make Reinforced Steel
This can be used to craft bp III to make Unbreakable Steel
This can be used to craft bp IV to make a Perfected Unbreakable Steel

The bp Unbreakable steel and Perfected Unbreakable Steel can be used to craft high to very high level vehicles and guns which of course require cyrene loot, this gives a reason to push through the stages

Could be, yes. Althou, I'm pretty certain EP blueprints will not be removed or changed in any way. So there will always be some people who will click those just to try their luck.

Depending how well those new BP's are designed it might bring lot of EP clickers back to the real crafting.
Well, let's wait and see. :smoke:

I had a mini-rant/rage session is discord over the new component BPs in discord yesterday.

The stated purpose of said component BPs was "to allow players to skill in attachments more easily." While it's a noble cause, it's ABSOLUTELY FUCKING USELESS when players can just craft EP4 for 102% markup output. As always, crafters will be limited to crafting mining gear, or EP. It's a goddamn waste.

MA is giving the appearance as though they're trying to curb the EP4 problem, but it's a half-assed effort that clearly wasn't thought through very well.. and a waste of developer time, even if it did only take an hour or two.

So long as players can craft 20 ped/click for TT materials, crafting (and thus EU) will be totally and absolutely broken. The new L guns were a step in the right direction though... currently those guns are more eco than ANY looted L counterpart.

So to MA: Close.... but no cigar.

Most people that craft ep4 don't sell it for mu. They turn around and tt it to rinse and repeat. Sure some will manage to but it's a minority as most don't want to wait for it to sell. Also yes you can increase your profession levels in attachments using ep4, but it is also slow extremely slow. These new bps seem to be a way of getting skills for the stated profession more easily like how ep4 allows easy way to skill component profession. This will make skilling crafting skills cheaper, instead of having to pay 1ped or more per click for the lower blueprints. Now it seems like they are opening crafting up to people with less ped...crafting always was an expensive profession to start. I don't think these blueprints were intended to fix ep4 though....thats your assumption and was never stated by MA.

EP is a mechanical engineering skill it's useful to a lot of professions. As long as these BPs give you domain-specific skills in attachment or weapon crafting that you can't get from EP you're statement is off the mark.

Since the tech gizmos are in weapon and attachment crafting they'll be welcome for people who want to craft in an MMO, not just play virtual slots. I suspect most of what you're thinking of (most players anyways nothing personal) when you say 'mining equipment' is probably actually 'attachments'.

100% right and clicking EP Can help you with general skills and some unlocks (just like repairing) but it can't get you to the upper levels in an unrelated profession.

The most basic component widget I is for electronic engineering. but it's pretty close to 1 ped (TT) per click.

Most of it is nanocubes but it uses three old-school crafted components from different professions, Mechanical Engineer, Metal Engineer, and another electrical engineer Then it adds muscle oil and sweat, and a bunch of nanocubes.

All of the other levels of widget and gizmo build off of this one and add various oils, and fragments and pieces from the prior levels.

It's not cheap or easy though even once the BPs will be common. I understand drops are tight (2 drops of new BP ini about 8 - 10k clicks so far) right now for some traditional MA markup action but leaving them rare would completely defeat the supposed purpose of their existence.

I'm glad to see them, but it's a bunch of work, several layers of markup, and a variety of skills/professions required that I think just won't be attractive to the straight gamblers that already have EPxx BPs. It will definitely help anyone that wants to become a productive crafter in the areas of crafting that are still most alive (i mean profitable) in-game.

It's definitely not crafting 2.0. But I'm happy to see it and it seems others are too.

More blueprints with nanocubes from TT.

What the actual fuck?

Let's just TT all hunting and mining loots. Craft every single usable fucking item from trade terminal.

Casino 2.0

I just saw somebody crafting shrapnel , what kind of sorcery is that now ? And from where is that BP?

I seen Sharpnel HOF messages, but nobody knows. Weird stuff

Those are from Tech Gizmo Recycle I Blueprint (L) and II and III. Takes Gizmo VIII (iirc) + moar nanocube, recycles into shrap.

All three were discovered a week ago. Not sure what they drop from, the one I saw had low req in laser weapons engineer. :D

This is smart crafting indeed.

Craft Gizmos, losing at least 5% in TT + markup on every stage. Then you get Gizmo VIII and craft it into 100.8% sharpnel :eyecrazy:

hahahaha, epic stuff

Summary

Crafting loot, is about flat with TT return on quantity 70%. Not on PC but about 50kclick on components)
Also note good, Multipliers are absent( global was on ExploCond click)

So product MU to bring runs closer to even should be 150% to 180%. ....(add average mat cost/ click 105%+)
