I must admit I jumped on the "excited" bandwagon and I certainly had high hopes for this VU.
Hunting: I finished out Longu IV (guardian-stalkers) to give me that last push to commando as any small skill boosts will get me there within days. Initially I was killing it. Up almost 800 peds. Mini after mini, bonus shrapnel every 20 kills it seemed. One night I globaled 7 times on them and even looted an ESI. On Longu, success like that isn't common. Sure had me thinking wow, 2.0 rocks! Then I logged out....
Upon relog 2-3 nights ago I now realize I received a curse for my good fortune. Longu's we're dead, so I decided to try others, loss after loss on at least 10-12 different mobs. Every (200-300ped) hunt was 50-60% returns. After losing quite a bit I thought perhaps it is just the swing of things and looked for other activities.
Crafting: I only do Lyst containers, but I have had some nice success in the past. In 2.0 I can't get better than 70% returns. So ya, let me know if you want a 100 qr BP. I'm just going to sell the Lyst I find for MU moving forward.
Mining: Holy crap.. bad decision. I know FOMA mining is risky per say, but I've never gone through multiple amps with ZERO finds. Tbh I don't even know how to describe it. I'm not a lvl 13 amp miner, as I mostly just do lvl 5 endurance runs. But finding one claim per 100 drops is just crazy now. After losing nearly 1.5k over 20 lvl 5 runs I decided I'll just go planet side. Averaging just enough to cover lvl 5 amp costs. Gonna put the finder away until something turns around for me.
Conclusion: Aside from my first successful Longu hunts, it has now turned into "take 2.0" for me no matter what I do. It is early to be critical, as swings do happen. I will say though that it's become slightly frustrating. Perhaps things will get better, as only time will tell. I will give it one last week of my normal play style. If no change, I will just budget myself to $50 on the weekends for "normal spending" entertainment. I won't much care if I lose it all, and at least anything gained is a bonus.
Hopefully you all are fairing better than me. I'm not the most "responsible" player, but I do have over 200k skills, only use maxed gear, and have a fair depth of knowledge after playing on/off since 2005.
Edit: I forgot to mention that in 1.0 that I could bounce around in activities and stay relatively afloat. There was always a nice pick me up global or crafting/mining find. These seem a lot more rare in 2.0-- i.e Not happening lol.
