Found a flight data recorder north of icanrus anyone know what to do with it ?

Found it near the wreaked ship kind of north of icanrus toward the CDF outpost truck. I don't see in my inventory and not sure what to do with. Maybe nothing:)
 
It's part of the Crash & Smash mission you get at the CDF outpost from captain Reeves. You need to pick the recorder (which isn't an actual item, just triggers the quest) then operate 5 supply crates nearby while killing the spawning argos and then return to the outpost for the next mission.

I have finished that one, must just be a bug. I did clicked on him but got no response.
