Unmaxed safe to use now?

Ok so then 7/10 means a 3% loss. Crit ab i guess dosent matter?
Crit matters, for dpp. And the damage there is twofold. First you take a hit from the HA not being maxed, since any shot that is a miss cannot crit. And the you lose out on the actual critchance since CHA is unmaxed. Doesn't matter for TT-returns though, but for all other important aspects (DPP, DPS etc.)

yeh I’m talking TT here. For my case it will only be like a week until maxed so I was only looking into how much loss to calc to see if it’s worth using L and it doesn’t look like it is.

It all boils down to the math based on...

1. How much markup are you paying for an alternative L gun?
2. What's the difference in efficiency?
3. How do those numbers compare to your hit rate?

Here's a calculation comparing the ArMatrix BP-30 (L) and Gravis GBP-35 Mk.II with a spend of 841 ped (in ammo + decay)

ArMatrix BP-30 (L) - DPS 51 - Eff 64% - markup 120%
Total loss on markup: 13 ped on use of a full gun.

Gravis GBP-35 Mk.II - DPS 52.5 - Eff 59.4% - markup irrelevant
0.32% less returns due to efficiency = 2.29 peds in loss (approximate assuming 100% returns)

0.5% miss rate = 4.20 ped in loss (106% markup relatively)
1% miss rate = 8.41 ped in loss (112% markup relatively)
1.5% miss rate = 12.62 ped in loss (119% markup relatively)
2% miss rate = 16.83 ped in loss (125% markup relatively)
2.5% miss rate = 21.03 ped in loss (132% markup relatively)
3% miss rate = 25.24 ped in loss (138% markup relatively)

(the miss rate ped value is calculated by taking the total budget of 841 and dividing it by the cost per shot of the gun then calculating what % of that is a miss rate and multiplying by the cost per shot)

So with this data you can see the break even for this comparative considering misses and the eff difference would be a miss rate no greater than 1.25%.

The higher level of gun your dealing with though the more you can miss and it will still be a better deal than paying some of the insane markups on armatrix guns. Most of the mid range guns are like 130-140%. Not to mention the massive bonus that with the UL gun you don't have to run around trying to find replacement guns.

So is it "safe to use" or a good idea. Hell YES, if the math works out for your avatar!
