Looks better in Excel:

- Analysis of Top 50 hunters
- Data taken from entropialife
- Last year top hunter list compared to last 30 days top hunter list
- Lots of top hunters from 2017 have stopped hunting altogether (or hunt shared only, but doubtful)
- If you didn't make the Top 100 list for the year, you will show up as "new" for Oct if you are in the Top 50

I wonder if this stabilizes once MA stops using the high depositors ped cards as their marketing budget.

Understand that all those lovely 5k, 15k & even 45k hits for peeps who joined 3 hours ago must be funded somehow.

But watching those big hits by all those new names (we're talking dozens a week) just feels like another big slap in the face. Especially so if lotsa players struggle to hit 3 digits on 5ped+ mobs.

As if MAs has given up on a large portion of the existing playerbase and tries to fill the empty ranks baiting noobs with uber hofs.

May wanna check EL and look how many of these uber lucky ones actually had 2 or 3 ubers within their first 10k total loot & how many of those players kept going afterwards.

This really has to stop & soon!
 
change the font color on the +/- % from 2016 to now.. it would really really emphasize the point if ya know what i mean..


i know a few of the -100% players moved to crafting/mining instead.. but less than 5% of them.


I really don't know how this is gonna shake out with MA financials on top of them giving hunters back another 2-3% than they used to.

So how many globals total are less each month.?
Very nice work but 30days abit short would be bit more accurate if you had it on 90 days, but guessing you want to show effect since MA said they this all this on purpose.

But something that throws the stats is many of People on list is imk2 users with big buffs.
Just like me their cost is very low so where i would have globaled pre 2.0 after i just dont, the multi just wont reach that high.

Concerning my stats, 2.0 is too volatile for me too hunt the mobs ive been doing 1 year ago and ive gone from 9 dmg enh too 0.

My biggest concern atm is that overall turnover wont be able too cover MAs running costs, so they will have to turn down the avarage returns further, naturally just speeding up the death of the game.
Trust is broken already so it will be harder to get these alternative incomes as well (tiering, galactica, quads, item upgrade)
 
man you're optimistic, thought we eastern Europeans are best at that game :D

Not the easiest thing to do - had to use an online converter from excel to bbc code - I would have to manually update each text I wanted red.

I wouldn't necessarily say that.
I can say that 24 of the top 50 hunters for the last year have stopped shooting altogether (for October).

The amount in which you "supposedly" lose all the time, would in fact make you some of the worst players in the game, based on your numbers. Just thought I would remind you.

If you tell the truth, its much easier to repeat yourself.

This line of argumentation is so bloody old and ignorant.

Ever occurred to you that there are many players who invested in these kind of items, in skills & still lost plenty over time?

Not everybody running around with aug/perfected ares was making profits.

Not everybody who was running on 100%+ returns was anywhere near amortizing their investment.

MA has been selling these items as the next best thing since sliced bread right up until 2.0 implementation and then pulled the rug from under people.

Yes goalposts needed moving for balance sake but we didn't need the entire stadium relocated to another planet. Especially not in this inconsiderate manner!

This might be a controversial opinion, but I suspect some of the avatars we saw vanish had exchanged hands at some point and were only being kept alive by their new owners to squeeze PED out of the playerbase with their hyper eco gear, since they could shoot anything and guarantee TT profit, TT profit which came indirectly from other players, not from MindArk.

I think the new system needs improvement still, ideally Entropia should reward those with good skills and gear who hunt intelligently with opportunities to profit from markup as a result of being near TT even. To me that seems like a fair system. Currently loot seems a bit volatile which I think makes some players feel a bit uneasy about grinding as hard as they would like to.

With that said though, it doesn't bother me at all seeing some of the leeches go, and hopefully they continue to improve their loot system and are able to revitalize the core playerbase.

MA didnt sell them.
Nearly all these buff items have been given away and not sold directly by MA.

And even if you can argue if by placing them in boxes means that MA sold them, they for sure did not sell them for those ridiculous prices!

Im sure you know mark up goes to the player and not MA? so its not MA selling , and if you 'invested' that kind of money for a ring then :laugh:

i do think quite some of it (not talking about lithuanian project of course) was kept in game to ride the MU stacking huge quantities, acquiring new items as they are introduced and depo-withdraw for boxes each season
pretty sure a large quantity of this stash was withdrawn when they stopped as of the sellouts - meaning nothing cool imho

the money depod was never MAs , it was only borrowed to MA , Rest given to other player for MU . As there was no TT loss , MA actually did not make any money off the top % hunter .

Indeed but I don't see how significant withdraws can be good for MA / player base. They more than likely keep only a small part of total "borrowed amount" available to withdraws immediately.

it's a bit of a strange situation.

Top hunters cycled a lot!
Making much decay thus creating much revenue.
This would look good on paper.
Good CLD returns, good revenue due to much decay.

But on the other hand, the more they cycled, the more TT profit they made and the more money they could withdraw out of the system.

So, they generated revenue while leaking money out the game. Seems a bit of a paradox here.

This only meant that the other 99% of the players were actually paying for this revenue.

New reality is less high cyclers, so less revenue. But also less tt profit to leach money out of the game.
So now we have less revenue, but still more money that stays in the game.
So on the long run a more sustainable situation?

they only have to back TT value , and im sure its against the law not having the money that backs TT . See Poker Clients . Secondly if you want to withdraw your MU value , someone has to deposit .
If they don't have the money immediately its sure a problem , but its a one time problem . In the long run its a win win situation .
As for the rest of the player base , i don't see any negatives , only positives .

Pulling me up on the word 'selling' is so disingenuous. Of course the items weren't directly sold by MA. The concept was very much so! Eco & in particular the crit buffs were indeed 'sold' by MA. As mentioned gazillion times before: Why were new crit buff items still being advertised as prizes & new rings still being issued if it was clear that this eco concept is on the way out?

How much does it cost to try winning one of the big events. MM FFA? How much was put in there to win the main prize(s) might not be fully up to MA. Sure. Yet the event was designed to cost lotsa money to win. This implies & creates value in a real cash economy.

If the guns that were handed out in some events would only go for say 5k peds do you believe anyone would have really gone as hard as some did to win?

Areas & seasonal rings only drop once in a blue moon to make sure they have a high value & not every one can obtain them. Otherwise why not hand them out from tt? Why not give everything to everybody straight from tt now?

You are being willfully ignorant & I'm bored of you throwing one liners out there celebrating peoples misfortunes.
 
i am not saying they do not have the money that backs tt - rather that they don't have it immediately - my assumption has always been they are using (some of) this borrowed money to generate some income by other activities e.g. stock or short term borrowing to other parties for higher % - but surely this would show up on their yearly report in SWE. if so less of borrowed money does have impact on their financials very directly.

also not sure how big the issue turns out to be, but significant withdraws and less visible activity will affect the playerbase negatively (cld's being one of the impacts). also surely some of the big turnovers were actively marketing the game (successful hunting logs, streams, etc) and thus inspiring other potential wannabes, not only getting tt profit - it will not happen now. same goes for less inclination to pay a lot for the next items (high efficiency UL weapons?)

it is not just black or just white, something in between as usual

you just don't make any sens , don't understand basic economics , and how this game works .
the ring for example , has 10 ped TT . big investment right ? the MU on that was artificially pumped up by garage 'companies' running avatars 24/7 .
So its only you to blame if you payed that MU , and did not understand why its has that MU .
