Why even play?

Are we talking about yung's dagger he got last night? I'm his sisters husband so just curious is it really is worth what he said xD

Well I don’t know if I should laugh or cry... he is indeed an average player , he got luck , maybe he opened 20 boxes...what if was Lindsay that was looting it after 2k boxes opened? ( again another conspiration thread)

Let’s start with this Halloween event , skill based ofc we have different instance levels. But asking what prize gets one that is grinding 40 hours in lvl 1,2,3 instance ? None. Because they are not giving enough points to be on top 15
Maybe you will manage to get 100 UA bonus... more likely to happen in lvl 3 instance. The only ones that have chance are those who are grinding lvl 4 and 5. Fair enough for that prize .
So in a skilled based competition how can I compete in the same category with the top Uber’s ?
What I want to say it’s from the start this competition (mayhem) it’s bad thinked.

Now what I can say also it’s looting such a good weapon from the box it’s kinda shity... I’m not gelous in the looter, because I know my history with the boxes , I cannot managed to loot a UL ring in all those years but I don’t want to complain.

Now I wanna ask you all how this Unique dagger should haved Been looted ? Or by who ?

What if the next unique something will be looted in future by average BOb from a feffox? Would be good? Don’t think so ... because he is not a lvl 170 Uber.

What if the next Mayhem will be only one category with average mobs from lvl 35-55 for all , one big room 24/24 grinding , no big prize only the chance to loot directly from the mob an insane gun ? Would be better ? Maybe , because of the random and equal chances, but also skilled based.

On topic I don’t like the idea of looting items as rings and other items from strongboxes. Random pills it’s ok , but no items.

The things worth sitting up for are all luck now.

I just opened my last easter box a couple weeks ago.

i was talking about box content.. MA is going to remove seasonal items from the seasonal boxes after the seasonal period... supposedly.

Well every day I ask myself the same question.
Why I should continue play EU? Aside from addiction ofc :D
My motivation was become relevant in lootable in few years and I gave it plenty of time last two years. Now theres no point in this goal at all.
For me, pyrite should be in lootable (or something worth the risk, not 90percents of lyst) and guns should be looted from mobs. In this case in HW instance. No exceptions.
Also there should be more categories for event.
For example I can't compete with ubers. No chance. So theres no point in participating in mayhem if I dont want open boxes.
With this MA's 2.0 trends I fear we will buy weapons, armors etc. from webshop in few years.

Have nice day.

Electra

Where does it say that?

I still got Easter Eggs until the end.

They said they were making alterations to seasonal boxes that would prevent seasonal rings from being looted months later. I don't recall their being any specific detail as to how those changes would be implemented.

I’d have to agree with the OP. So let’s see, my options as a newcomer into this game: invest 80 hours a week to skill up, invest 50k usd in gear to compete with the best geared players. Then you have a 1/15 chance to win a pretty nice sword and a pretty good chance to win a decent ring.

OR invest 100 bucks farm some Halloween boxes in the event. Buy 50 usd of keys and have a 1/1000 chance of looting the same ring or a bad ass dagger that’s even better than what the people with years and 10s of thousands of dollars invested are competing for.

I think the ladder is a better deal currently. I’m very confused about the direction that the game is going. Pure casino and sticking it to the players with the biggest investments. I think MA needs to stop with the other bs projects and focus on entropia again. Update the game engine, bring value back to pvp so it’s actually fun again, stop chasing away investments in gear etc.

I understand giving everyone a chance to loot some nice stuff and I agree with that, but I think markup on pills, amps, and a chance at a ring worth 15k would be enough to farm/open boxes without completely shitting on the event prizes.

If you're buying boxes you're paying MU for a chance at a good item, boxes were going for +5-10PED, those players could have just opened the boxes themselves if they wanted to.

High skilled players can loot way more boxes per hour than low skilled players, and on top of that, it's not like they released 50 of these daggers into the game, they released one single dagger, to spice things up and create some hype for the boxes.

Not exactly game ruining or anything, in fact, it doesn't actually affect other players in any sort of negative fashion, it only affects MA in a negative fashion, due to how loot 2.0 works. (according to MA)

Weirdly noone has complained about FFA mayhem styles where people would just buy up points for not only 1 but 4 weapons

I play EU because my enjoyment of the game still outweighs my frustrations at the lag, bad loot days etc :broke:
I may play a little less when it gets bad, but I am always drawn back because it has the best social group I have ever encountered in an on-line game. I love the player interaction..we laugh together, cry together, help each other and rant together at MA. :grouphug:

Tomorrow is another day..we will all be here hoping for a HOF and expecting another hole in the ped card, but we will still have fun with friends, have fun despite MA. Who knows we may even be surprised and have a profit day. :yay:

I feel sorry for those that play only to win or with their eyes fixed on the profit margin..they are missing the best part of the game and are truly the losers. Only put into the game what you can afford to lose, stop worrying what others do and don't get and  have fun

and in fairness to MA, this huge monolith of a game is amazing despite the bugs and lag. Though would be great if we saw less new content and more fixes for a few VU's.

I doubt many play this for profit. I see some disciples who come and ask about making money, but since they are mostly kids, they have no idea how the game works. They think you get 50k HoFs every day, just playing this game :)

Game is fun for long term goals, it just sucks that it's ran by greedy scamming incompetent bunch.

I have to find the post about the idea to put loot in a box, was silly idea back then, a sarcastic one. Well, who knew

Remember the days when there were no skill chips or strong boxes? It really was all about skilling up and working your way forward, and those were the days

Yes they have complained, plenty. Read the threads from around then. But at least it's a way to participate for those who know they can't compete with the top. Which is pretty much the majority.

Competing with the top is one thing.

Being completely without chance to compete with noobs for 5k wombanas or 20k towers is a whole different thing altogether.

MA pissing all over their longstanding & loyal customers who can't get out of 2 digit hell is what's pushing my buttons.

why cant you compete with noobs on 5k wombanas? cant you kill wombanas? or is this just pure whiny bullshit again?

How can someone so "undeserving" get lucky, is what they can't fathom. If you pour in a mortgage's worth, you ought to be on the sunny side forever and ever. Man I'm so glad they did away with this insanity. Of course some aren't happy. I am learning a lot from just observing who starts howling and who manages.

That said, in the turmoil since 2.0 there were some bad times for the small-budget player, too, but lately things look brighter again, if one can say so after several days of unspectacular, but consistently decent returns (hunting mostly Oratan Prospectors). If this continues as it was up until ca. 7 months ago, the "why" question becomes moot again. Cheers.

the people dont understand how maths work and thats why they are angry at the "noobs". an example: there are 100 people killing 500 wombana per hour, each, that makes 50.000 wombanas per hour. now put it up to a day worth of hunting that makes around 1 million wombanas. now those drop a huge loot like once a week. so one huge loot after 7 million mobs killed. (keep in mind this is just an example)
now there are 20 people killing 30 big osseos per hour. this makes roughly 15k osseos a day. now after 100 days they havent popped a really big multi. well after 100 days there have just been 1.5 million osseos killed. opposed to the 7 million wombanas needed. and this is so surprising? sure there might be less wombana hunters than 100 but there might also be less osseos hunters. there might be some who kill more per hour and some who kill less. this is just an example to make a point. and that point should be obvious.

and as mostly "noobs" hunt the small mobs its no surprise that a "noob" pops the big one. if there are 100 hunter and only 2 of them are known ones / ubers or whatever there is a 98% chance that the noob hits it, assuming same turnover.

also since loot 2.0 overkill doesnt matter much anymore. so why dont you take your 100 dps gun or whatever and go kill 300hp mobs with it. the turnover per hour is the same as on big mobs as you are using the same gun. yea a big multi might not be as big as a big multi would be on a big mob but the chance to get one is incredibly much higher. so why nto kill the small mobs? rare ul items? those dont drop anyway unless MA wants em to. MU materials? those dont drop anyway on big mobs. at least they wont be sellable in quantities that qualify for the turnover needed to hunt them properly. yea big mobs do drop more and bigger ESIs. but thats why its gambling hunting the bigger ones. better chance for ESIs and bigger hofs for a lot higher volatility.

i do like where MA is going recently. if you stop being blind and think the things they do through you will see that most of em are beneficial longterm.

Said it once, will say it again... Are you here going to pay to play or pay to stay? It's just like a casino in this regard... Do you go spend on the penny slots, quarter slots, dollar slots, or the big 20.00 for one spin slots? A lot of folks think they are sitting at the craps or poker table when they are really just staring at the one armed bandit in here.

Good point. Could not have said it better myself. I dont tend to play unless I can depo large to be able to play as a big roller. Which means I stay away for a few months or so just to make a casino run burning a few K Euros. Happens a lot and I never walk away with profit. That being said, I have given up a long time ago on actually making a viable turnover with a game like this. You do see my name pop up and hit big HOFs every now and then. But you dont know or see what went in to hof or that the sum total of hofs never exceed that which is spent. Now if you havent tried it, you wouldnt know it or perhaps understand it. Its great fun ofc to play like that and posibly the best way to enjoy it also. There is no fun sweating for 12 months to do a few hours hunting run. When I dont play this game, I resort to playing other games that dont cost so expensive to have fun. Like a true PVP game DayZ for example. That gets your blood pumping and adrinalin flowing. And it doesnt cost you a cent, just a lot of efford to loot and gear up and get into a fight with bandits and other players. Entropia is the classical money trap run by peops with no concience at all. A crooks dream made legal. Considder all cash deposited as gone forever and you may not feel so crappy when you lose it, which is a certainty.

Dont bother bitching at MA, they realy dont care other than making profit themselves, paying bills and so on. You can tell them how to run their bussiness untill you go blue in the face and pass out and they wont listen ofc. Not the kind op people who have learned to make a bigger turnover by keeping things way cheaper, instead they have opted for the get-rich-fast by upping the vallues etc. Most who know them for years can remember all the mirriads of implimentations to financially bennifit the host. And the thousands who quit because of it. Yet they dont care as their trap is in place to catch new flies for as long as the game will exist. Get it? Either you are wealthy IRL to play this game and cant be bothered to lose thousands at a time ,the market they aim for, or you should NOT even start playing this game, if it will cause you to get into financial troubles IRL.

The only persons who realy play the game right are the traders and acountant minds with spreadsheets. And a butload of patience.
